Same thing happened to me after having registered two DSs and a bunch of games. Very annoying, and unnecessarily mean on Nintendos part.

I agree. I lost all my lovely points that I'd been hoping to save towards something more worthwhile than a mobile wallpaper. :/ Think of the children!

I managed to effectively clear my account recently by "buying" the Wii NES Controller just before Ninty were due to wipe a chunk off on my behalf.

1st registered product was Gamecube in May 2002. Since then registered 169 products ! amassing 40,040 stars. Don't tell the wife !

I'm at 5800 at the mo, but i'm constantly logging in to check if any are due to expire. I'm hoping I can get that SNES pad before then.

    Hooray! Free code for DKCR!

Oh no! I need to buy a bigger SD card to actually download the thing.

Still, free is free. However, what's with all of the small storage space for Nintendo devices?! I know it's cheaper, but come on.

I dunno, the SD card that the console came packed with has been good for quite a few downloaded games, some of them (eg. Monster Hunter) quite large. It seems generous enough to me.

I think the SD cards that come with the console are there if you're wanting any content exclusive to the eShop, rather than retail downloads. I never came anywhere near filling the 2gb one that came with the original 3DS, but I made sure I upgraded to 16gb shortly before getting an XL. Just in case they had some decent offers on for retail software.

The retail software downloads are usually complete ripoffs, but there are some sales from time to time. And there are some games I'd rather have on SD. Animal Crossing, for example.

Whoops. Just popped into Game to have a look and ended up buying the Fire Emblem 3DS XL.

Took me up to the three game mark though, so my other half will now get AC for free.

    :)

To be fair I was considering Fire Emblem anyway, plus my other half had AC preordered. So, If you apply crap logic and poor mathematics I actually saved money!

What a cracking machine the XL is though. Those screens!

    Help!

My 32gb SD card has arrived and I wanted to transfer all my data from the old card to the new one.

I've followed the step by step guide on the Nintendo site and the data is indeed on the new card but my games haven't shown up?

    What gives?

I've just put the original card in the 3ds and my games are there. Would I have to delete them on that for them to be playable on the other card?

@JiveHound I transferred mine recently to a 16gb card. Literally just copied all the files from one, popped onto my desktop, then copied them onto the new card and put that in my 3DS. Didn't delete anything from the old card.

Maybe check what your 32gb is formatted as. Might need changing to FAT or something

Just copy the whole card (the 3ds folder) to your PC then copy to the new one. I did it the other day

@dudewheresmybrain I made sure to stick the 32gb card into my 3ds first so it could recognise it for 3ds use so I would've thought it would have formatted it then.

    Technology.

Tried turning your 3DS off and on again? Seriously, worth a try. When I last changed by card I just pulled a fresh SD card out of a pack, copied the files from my Nintendo SD card to the new one, put that in my rebooting 3DS and everything showed up fine. My 3DS hadn't seen that card before, but it reacted on booting up just as if it was the old card.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    Just ordered DKCR.

So who's waiting for their free download of Animal Crossing? It just occurred to me that it's coming out at the same time as The Last of Us and fuuuuuck my life.

Speaking of Animal Crossing, anyone know if we are likely to receive our download codes on launch day?

The codes are a bit inconsistent... I think they have to get someone manually to confirm them, at which point they show up on your Club Nintendo account (and email DAYS later). Wouldn't expect them at midnight, but sometime during the day of release, hopefully? Pretty much just keep refreshing your Club Nintendo page.

Did anyone request a code for DKCR before it released?

Did you get it working? Sometimes big memory cards come formatted in
NTFS I think, which the 3DS may be able to read as there but not actually use. Check what format your old card is and then compare it to the new one. Right click on it in my computer if you're on windows and go on properties.

So I got Ocarina of Time.

Holy fuck, what a game. It's been years since I'd played it last - I'd forgotten how good it was. And still is.

I don't get 3D Zelda either. Not at first, anyway. It took me a good few hours for OoT to click with me, but now it has I do see why people love it so much. Not that I share that love, but it's a very well crafted game that's as good as I imagine a 3D Zelda could be. I still prefer my Zelda 2D and spritey though.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

It's the music, it's the dungeon design, it's the dizzying array of secrets, and the bucketloads of charm. The horse riding and the boss battles. The fishing.

    Oh, and the water temple.

For the record, my favorite Zelda is still Link's Awakening. But OoT is a quality, quality game.
