Quick question about the system transfer feature. Does it just transfer game data, purchases etc. I assume I will have a new friend code on the XL? Sorry sounds dumb but I heard somewhere that your FC gets transferred over but was doubting that as they are tied to the hardware are they not?

Absolutely everything gets transferred over. The original 3DS is then wiped and restored to factory settings, so the new console has everything.

Your friend code and friends list are both transferred over.

Just picked up a Blue XL in Argos for 140 and got a 10 voucher for spending over 100 there. Took about 30min to transfer everything over but now I've been able to crack on with Luigis Mansion.

Glad I finally decided to upgrade feels better built than the original 3DS, now I just need to trade in the original at game and that's me set for Fire Emblem.

I'm thinking of getting another of these. I shouldn't as I sold my last one at Xmas because I never played it, but I've got some travel coming up and I'm about to live farther away from work.

My copy of Devil Survivor Overclocked turned up, it's been banished to the shelf of doom 'till a patch is available though.

Enjoying Monster Hunter and Code of Princess, anyway!

Just got my copy today as well and in two minds whether I should open it or not. There seems to be some work around the issues. My main concern is if they can't get a patch sent out

I was playing it last night and this morning and I've not had to summon or go the the auction house yet but I'm only about an hour into it. Pretty good so far but the visuals are a little dated and doesn't take advantage of 3d at all which I don't really see as an issue

From playing the original, you won't need to summon much on the first day or two but later on it is essential so it will be a big problem. Makes me glad I decided to import my first Nintendo handheld (mainly because I feared a lot of the RPGs wouldn't reach Europe, but this situation with DS:oC has suported my investment)

3DS XL upgraders: how are you getting rid of your 3DS? Ebay? Trade in? What sort of prices are you getting?

    Tempted...

@el_pollo_diablo Not sure yet. Was either thinking of offereing it to people or taking it down to GAME or CEX to trade-in.

Kind of wish I did the GAME thing and traded in on the day to get a discount on the XL.

You probably know this, but you can check trade-in/sale value on CEX's website.

@el_pollo_diablo I just took mine (it was in the box only thing I kept was SD card) to Game and got 77 for it. They price matched CEX. That is the best deal for me as it gives me credit for a couple of future 3DS games. Not sure how much they are going for on ebay.

Dont forget you need to buy another charger for it, I forgot and need a charger for it now... Looks like Im heading out tomorrow to pick one up.

I sold mine on another forum unboxed for 75. I picked a charger up from Argos for 5.99

    Thanks all.

Hmmm, so basically we're talking about getting an upgrade for 75.

    Hmmm.

I just upgraded to an XL the other day as well. I will hold onto my regular 3DS though. I would rather keep it than only get 75, I can only get 2 games for that anyway. The extra 3DS may come in handy if the XL breaks in the future

The XL is fantastic though highly recommended.

Sell it man, you'll find no more use for it, it will decrease in value. I thought the same thing until I thought about it

I would say sell it as well, why keep something that might be used?? It will only loose value get what you can for it

Maybe I would be better getting rid. It's just when I think I paid full price on launch day 75 is nothing for it really. I doubt I will ever get any use out of it again though.

Depends how much you need the cash but there are lots of games like monster hunter and resi revelations that have decent local co op.

    Just a thought.

I thought the same mate. But in the end your going to make a loss regardless. In another few months you might only get 50 or whatever. I just bit the bullet and accepted the loss. Still I'm happy with paying 75 for an upgrade as its pretty substantial for myself. As much as I love the 3DS I find the standard model too u comfortable after say 30 mins use. It was seriously effecting my enjoyment.

XL is a far better fit for me.

voden, is your original 3DS have the Ambassador Games on it or did you move them to XL?

So how's everyone finding there new 3DS? I might be wrong but I think the battery in it is better than in the original one but that could be my imagination.

XL battery is proven to be better.

Going to return Overclocked; not got the patience to wait for a potential patch as by the time it's sorted (if indeed it ever is) I'll be all over Fire Emblem.
