Wasn't intending on getting back on board quite so soon, but I'm about to click buy it now on the white XL with 3D Land from Amazon...

    Shall I click? Shall I?

Fire Emblem. Monster Hunter. Devil Survivor Overclocked. Luigi's Mansion. Etrian Odyssey IV.

    Of course I shall.

Probably best to wait for the reviews of those games before throwing a chunk of cash at the system again?

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

@kinky_mong to be fair, the reviews *are* coming through for Fire Emblem and that's enough for me. I do have over 100 of credit on Amazon too...

@Murbal. I've got Pilotwings, Resi Revelations, Mario 3D Land, Mariokart 7, Zelda OOT and Metal Gear. Not got to Metal Gear but the first five were awesome, not to mention Gunman Clive, Pullblox, etc.

The lineup looks brilliant too, do it.

@Murbal Ah fair enough. I'm hoping Luigi's Mansion does turn out well as my 3DS has just been a Picross and StreetPass machine for the last 6 months!

I'll never get my Orc looking the same again.

horses for courses mate. My 'normal' 3DS fits in a pocket. The XL might be more comfortable for longer use. The pixels are bigger on the XL which might not be a good thing. The small one is cheaper. Both are excellent.

I prefer my XL over the original model, but the visuals are much sharper on the original. The d-pad isn't an awkward reach on the XL and has a matte finish.

Picked up a 3ds today as a reward of sorts. Love it in every single way. Monster Hunter and Castlevania demos give a lot to look forward to and the games I picked up are stunning.

And it's here. White with Mario 3D Land. Box is *much* smaller than I expected. Console is so much nicer to hold. Bought a USB to 3DS cable from Ebay for less than a couple of quid instead of buying an official charger, working fine.

Now, I just need a time machine to skip forward to Fire Emblem...

I played both castlevania and monster hunter demos. Am I the only one who hated them?
Great graphics on castlevania but its just a side scroller. Not a fan of them really. No depth. And monster hunter - reminded me of dark souls but for kids. I didn't get what you had to do! I've never played a MH game before bearing in mind

I don't think it's fair to judge the depth of Castlevania by the demo, but I can't say I'm a fan. I'm not that into the series though, and it feels like that except it's harder - too hard for me!

As for Monster Hunter, I found it to be an aquired taste. You hunt bigger and bigger monsters and craft all sorts of cool equipment, but if the combat doesn't click with you, I can't see you enjoying it. I remember finding the combat really clunky until I found a weapon I preferred, so do give all the weapons a quick go. If none work for you, then I'd avoid the game.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

On the MH demo, I killed this woolly mammoth creature but nothing happened. And I felt so bad for the baby mammoth!

The Castlevania demo didn't click with me, but I'm really happy with the 3DS at the moment- we've got Nano Assault finally on the eshop on Thursday, and then Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey IV and Devil Survivor Overclocked all in the next 6 weeks or so. Every one of them is a timesink and absolute heaven for stat-herding junkies like me. Awesomesauce.

On another note, I love the frequency of games that offer demos now, but is it just me where they have put me off buying stuff rather than encouraging it? I found the FF Theatrhythm demo great for a taste of the game and picked it up, but the Castlevania, Metal Gear and Fractured Soul demos, amongst others, put me off and saved me a wedge of cash and lost goodwill in the process.

I can understand the philosophy of a demo not being representative, and actually hurting sales (I would have bought all 3 otherwise), but am grateful for the chance to try before buying. The 3DS is rapidly becoming one of my favourite systems, not because of the 3D or even any particular game, but because the eshop is becoming pretty good after a couple of years of baby steps.

Can anyone recommend a 3DS XL (or presumably DSi XL would fit) case that includes compartment storage for at least 5 games and doesn't look like Mario's lunchbox? Cheers!

I've got this one, although it's currently out of stock:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasics-Carrying-Nintendo-Officially-Licenced/dp/B0050SVPCO/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url

Space for three games in there, although I'm sure you can cram a couple more in. :)

@redcrayon Couldn't agree more. I've invested so much into the eShop. More so than I have retail releases. The backlog of games I have for just this console is ridiculous.

    @Murbal

Well, they said Spring, so maybe I'm being a bit optimistic for EO! Even if it doesn't turn up 'till June, I've got enough to play through with the others.
