Thanks for the pricing information roz! I was hoping they'd be cheaper as i'd like them all on my 3DS at all times, especially MK7, but I guess i'll have to hope for a super sale on them, which will never happen.
And thanks for the write up on Liberation Maiden redcrayon, it sounds and looks really good. I'll definitely pick it up at some point.
I'm fairly sure they said MH3U is out in March at the same time as the WiiU version.

Hmm, I'm not sure it's for everyone, but it's got a very anime mecha feel to it, elegant battlesuits, swarms of homing missiles locking onto everything on both sides of the battle, power swords etc, if you like that kind of thing!
One downside is that the stages are quite long, there are only 5 apparently, so they have multiple objectives. It's nice in that it makes the battle zones feel large and substantial, but the control scheme isn't that comfortable for me for more than 15 minutes or so, so I'll be tackling it one stage at a time.

Which apparently isn't being released over here.
really? nnnooo. my most anticpated game alongside ni no kuni
Oh, that's a shame. Hadn't realised that.
This is where I read it. Hope it's not true. I imagine it'll need some rebranding and a new title, but it would be a good chance for Square to make a bigger impact on the 3DS over here. Kingdom Hearts has sold very well at least.
Hmm, 'no plans' isn't the worst thing they could say. Fingers crossed for an EU and US release.

I has 3DS XL! Pixels the size of my head, but then looking at my housemate's 3DS, it is fucking tiny!
So all in all, a good trade off I reckon. Mario 3D Land is amazing, fuck NewSMB, this is where it's at.
They've shrunk the text in Paper Mario, from what I can remember. That's going to look tiny on the older model. Still looking great though. Can't wait for it!

What's the next big first party Nintendo game on the horizon? Is there anything coming before Christmas?

Paper Mario on December 7th is pretty much the big one. Not sure about anything else as I've been pretty bad for buying stuff I barely play, but Paper Mario certainly looks awesome.
That is pretty much it for Nintendo this year, unfortunately. Hopefully Luigi's Mansion, Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing aren't too far behind. The first two are down as Q1 releases for 2013, I believe.
Tried Fire Emblem on my 3DS Ambassador list - am I missing something (other than a manual)?
Clearly you're missing how awesome it is!
Sort of like a blend between Advance Wars and FF Tactics.
Also, Fire Emblem: Awakening has been announced for Q2 2013 sadly...

I didn't think I was a fan of strategy games - never got far in an Nintendo Wars game, and while I wanted to love Disgea, the PS2 original's still in my to-play pile.
But FE: Sacred Stones I've completed twice now - once on GBA and once on 3DS, and I'm currently most of the way through a hard run on the 3DS. It's comfortably my most played 3DS game. In most screens you can hit R to get stats, then press R on the stat to tell you what the hell it is. Took me a while to figure out how the various stats predict how a battle will go, but you can always move a character to attack then B-button your way back if the pre-battle summary indicates it was a bad idea.

Devil Survivor Overclocked has been delayed - supposed to be out this week but now back to "Nov 16th" but that might just be a temporary date...

My 3DS seems ever so slightly borked. The date and time always resets when I turn wi-fi back on (I usually keep it off unless I need it). It's happened before, and only now I've realised how it's happening.
A quick google suggests it's a problem with the internal power, or something. Anyway, even though it's hardly a major issue, I'm wondering if it's worth contacting Nintendo about it - has anyone had any luck with their support? I certainly wouldn't say no to swapping the faulty console for an XL.

Playing around with Super Mario 3D Land yesterday evening and it got me thinking about what I'd like to see from a 3DS Zelda. The impression I have right now is that they could re-explore the Link to the Past Template (so traditional controls this time around) and use the 3D to add layering and depth to the playfield with clever stereoscopic tricks for puzzles. I can just see Link gingerly strutting up flights stairs, settling above the screen and thrusting his sword right out at the world (that's not an idiom btw )

I picked up my 3DS XL the other day to find some weird spot under the 3D screen... not sure what it is but it looks like a bit of debris has got underneath it. I'm not sure how this could be as I'm insanely protective of my stuff and when its not in my hands it's in a protective case. I've sent it off for repair anyway in the hope that they do fix it under warranty... anyone got any experience with Nintendo repair? Are they kind hearted folks?
@roz123 Looks great. I haven't even played 4, 5, or 6, but I love 9. Playing through it right now.

I'm thinking about buying a 3DS. Now the price seems to be good but I'd like to ask a few questions.
1) The D-pad has now moved downwards. Is that a problem for some people or is playing in a relaxed way possible?
2) Battery life, the info talks about 5-8 hours. Is that accurate or can you get out more if you deactivate the wireless stuff/reduce screen brightness/play NDS games?
3)Does anybody have problems with scratches on the display, did it get more scratch proof compared to the NDS, general experience?
Thanks for reading. Appreciating any helpful comments.
