The biggest improvement the xl makes is with comfort, it's miles better to hold than the tard version.

Agreed, it may have Lego block size pixels, but the difference to hold is amazing. Compared to any oth handheld it is still poor, however at least you can hold it, the original 3ds was entirely unplayable to me, with sharp corners and tiny buttons that caused cramps and pain after just a few minutes.

I want to swap my 3DS for an XL at some point. I only got my 3DS at Christmas but I had a go on an XL and it's just sooo nice.

I played OoT for the first time last month and really enjoyed it but it suffers a little bit from "you had to be there at the time" syndrome. You can sort of see in some places why the new games are so hand-holdy.
I've said this before (probably around the time OoT 3D came out), but Majora's Mask would benefit from the 3D re-release much more for various reasons - not least because it's still the most unique entry in the series and, unlike OoT, would stand out even today.

Not to say I disagree with your reasoning that it'll be better to have a new game - I'd love for it to be Advance Wars - but I do want MM to be more appreciated, and I hope people don't end up dismissing it just because it's another remake or they think it'll be the same as OoT. Sure, the graphics and general gameplay are the same, but the style and structure are very different.

I've recently ordered a 3ds xl due to being bored to death of the more "adult" games. To me those games have lost their fun.

I'm just so excited about playing Luigis Mansion and getting that Nintendo charm back in my life.

This is why I might get a Wii U in the coming months. Most of the interesting stuff is coming to PC anyway, Nintendo stuff is only on Nintendo consoles though.

My 3ds came a few days ago and I have to say it's some of the most cheerful gaming I've had in a long time.

All four games ive bought are simply incredible game play experiences with lovely music and moments that I'll remember and cherish.

Thank you Nintendo for making me enjoy games again.

@Pipedream What games did you buy?

On a side note, is anybody else interested in Fantasy Life?

Yeah, I'm fairly interested in Fantasy Life. I'm a big fan of Harvest Moon so it looks like an interesting take on the relaxed life sim type genre.

@Raiko101 Mario Golf, Mario Land 3d, Luigis Mansion and Animal Crossing.

Spent most of my time on the Mario titles so far.

Felt proud to be a 33 year old wielding a special edition 3ds playing golf on a long coach journey.

Need to look up some more of the Fantasy Life playthrough they showed at E3, essentially seemed to be an MMORPG without the actual MMO part, though it did do the Animal Crossing trick of visiting other player's worlds. I'll probably take a punt on it, when it comes out.

Will the Amiibos (spelling?) work for the 3DS version of SSB?

There will apparently be an adapter to work with 3ds.

Just played Kirby's Power Paintbrush (aka Canvas Curse). They really got it right with this one, it remains as fresh and entertaining as ever. It's starting to show it's age graphics wise but still retains that retro Kirby charm. Still can't beat the final boss, though.

A classic to seek out for your collection imo.

It's a fantastic game. Definitely in my top 5 ever DS games.

I'm not calling you a tard per se but the cheap and nasty basic 3DS is clearly the yard version, all the clever* people own 3DS XLs.

    * That excludes muppets like people who bought the White one which gets scratched to buggery just from the humidity in the air.

Playing Ocarina of Time on my 3DS when watching the World Cup...LOVE IT! Not reached the Water Temple you all curse yet though.

I did OoT for the first time recently and thought the water temple was fairly straightforward. The bit that people hated apparently got changed for the 3DS version - a door that opens at one point now has a cutscene showing you that it opened, whereas before you'd have had no idea.

My Cosmic Black 3DS has been with me since launch day. It sits in my laptop bag unobtrusively and has been a welcome companion on my commute into the studio almost every weekday since. It's been to Japan and done some heavy street passing. Plenty of normal 3DS's there. Are they tards in Japan too? It has given me great pleasure and good value.
You are welcome to play with your 3DS XL but I'm wise enough to realise that bigger is not always better. I use mine well. Each to their own. So, begging your pardon; fuck you indeed.

To be fair though. The tard version is a bit rubbish isn't it?

It's having somewhat a summer drought. Theatrhythm is due in September. Smash Bros and Fantasy Life in October. I'm sure there's more than that. I'll do a bit of research.
