Didn't they return a few years ago too? although I think it was just the name slapped on some gaming PCs.

    Portable view - Never forget.

Yeah, I think they made a fugly box PC with a vinyl picture of a c64 on the side.

This on the other hand looks quite swanky. Tech specs sound a bit fake though - they only list one motherboard yet the processor tech varies from a few gens old to only a gen or two old. I'd be surprised if all of them take the same socket.

    Christ.

Can't help but think the Commodore name/brand exchanges hands for a couple of hundred quid theses days.

Hard to say. There's a french lot that currently own both the Acorn and Apricot trademarks, and they're asking quite a lot as I understand it even for those brands.

I like the design, but they should have included wifi.

I could be tempted with this form factor, but it is /just/ a PC in a nice box. Still no prices though

Those look the business. Why bother getting an overheating laptop or a big box PC? Very nice indeed. I think I will get some and slap an Amiga sticker on it :)

Love the way they've made it look like the C64 plus, the best of all the Commodores.

The slideshow is gash. It's on the front page and uses the lowest res. pictures possible.

Anyone use a keyboard that sits two inches of the desk with a happy angle of 45 degrees? You might as well dust off an old ICL keyboard.

Not as powerful as a normal and not as versatile as a laptop? Brilliant idea..

They're not even the first people to do it, atleast the Asus looks fucking sexy.

What is wrong with some of you lot!? It looks fucking AWFUL? Like a cheap-arse keyboard from Maplin.

And the site looks like my dad designed it and came up with the marketing concept.

A painful waste of time and effort.

Heh. It looks like it's only a render anyway - I'd be surprised if they'd actually made a machine yet, otherwise there'd be more than two photos of it (and only one at a proper resolution). And the website might have been finished.

When the hell is this getting released?

I have some money here burning a hole in my pocket and an irrational desire to own a beige keyboard computer again ;)

The only "I can't wait" I feel for that is "I can't wait to see how much of a premium they charge for a sub-netbook powered linux box with a C64 emulator".

It's just a PC motherboard in a plastic box with a slimline DVD drive and a clicky keyboard. Surely the original C64 wasn't that far off the desk - looks pretty awkward to type on. And they're going to have difficulty selling it for a decent price if they insist on using cherry blue keyswitches - plain USB keyboards with cherry keyswitches go for around 100 quid and up on their own.

Well look at that - Commodore USA posted a set of photos of a prototype on their site. Looks fairly interesting, the temporarily labelled "internet" key is intriguing.

So it's some off the shelf PC components crammed into a C64 case. Great.
    Yes.

Hence my total lack of enthusiasm for it.
