My biggest problem so far as been the clearomizers from liberty flights. All of my batteries are still fine from the original purchase in September but after buying a new 900 mAh one it turns out that it's the clearmoizers that are the problem. I think it might be because I wasn't using them enough as I was smoking some of the waccy so they went on the shelf and weren't used for a while.

I've had two cracked already and two that refuse to vape anymore, even after an attempt at washing them out.

You are a factory of sadness.

On the upside, the ludicrously swanky voltage switcher battery does work. It has a handy safety feature I didn't know about where you press the button 5 times quickly to lock it. It came locked, so that's handy. Still doesn't explain all my 901s being DOA though. Have ordered a new 901 charger to see if that's the problem.

    Thanks for this write up.
I wanted to give up smoking for a long time now (or cut back to 2-5 a day) and your little review has me intrigued.

Can anyone recommend a brand? (quality, price and compatibility with cartridges)

    Edit.
Just noticed this is a 52 page thread.. Guess I have some reading to do.

Still wouldn't mind some recommendations though..

Go back a few pages, the recommendations changed as the technology improved. Ego vision clearomizers are the current toast of the town.

Thanks but I don't want some contraption or massive pipe shape object, I want one that looks like a cigarette.

Guess those aren't that good by reading the comments.

If you just want something easy and cig-like then get a V2 or similar. I like the whole playing with gadgets and trying out new contraptions element that comes with buying the fancy bits. Plus I much prefer them to not look like real cigarettes. Each to their own.

Doesn't seem to be sold in the Netherlands..
Odd, I mostly come across webshops which sell no brand e-cigarettes.

I looked at those Ego Visions and it seemed a bit more involved than I'm willing to commit to at this point.

Also, their site looks like it was put together by a child.

    I got V2s already.

My 2nd battery should arrive today. Black "shorty" with a blue light. Very fancy!

    I'm new...

Nice to see a bit of serious investment in these things, but the more commercial they become, the crappier they become:

There are loads of ads on TV in America for them. The last series I saw had Stephen Dorff endorsing them.

901-t might be for you, but once you realise you aren't smoking a cigarette, you'll want something designed for the job it's doing in mind.

No nicotine? They're not exactly going to help as a cessation aid then. I did perhaps think the nicotine aspect might just be psychological until I switched from 24mg to 8mg and went mental.

Dorff does commercials for blu e-cigs, which look decent enough. The pack you can buy charges them on the go and communicates with other packs!

Why the fuck would you want your ecigs communicating with each other?

    Why wouldn't you?!? :D

I think the odds of you ever meeting someone else with one of those packs is slim to none anyway.

I thought the fact it charges your batteries was pretty nifty, though.

I started vaping 9 months ago and have not had a fag in that time having previously been a 20 a day man.

Started with a combo of eGo batteries and boge cartos and RY4 juice. Quickly progressed onto trying lots of different cartomizers and clearomizers and then into mods.

My kit now comprises of using a Provari mini as my power and then different delivery systems depending on the juice. Tobacco flavours I still think are best in the boge cartos in a Kir Fanis tank, fruit flavours I vape in a Cobra and then I have a few drippers for other times.

The kit I recommend to people who try mine would be a Vision eGo spinner as the main battery, with a normal eGo as backup in case you run out of power. A pack of boge cartos and a Vision eGo clearomizer so you can try both and see which you prefer.

Juice wise a lot of people like RY4 but without a doubt the two best flavours I have tried are the Guevara and Eden from House of Liquid

I would recommend liberty-flights for all the starter kit. They aren't the cheapest supplier (nor the most expensive) but they have great customer service and if you check their FB and Twitter pages they give out discount codes, or you can use mine DAVEVAPE for %10 off.

Well you should really specify that on your match.com profile.

My personal favourite so far has been the energy drink one from Liberty Flights. Nice throat hit but sweet too. I'm burning through it pretty quickly at the moment with my new higher strength battery.

Good tip on the discounts, cheers!

You are a factory of sadness.

For those just wanting to give up proper cigs there is no point spending money on anything more than a basic starter kit; they are great at what they do.

If, like gamingdave, you decide to continue vaping I definitely recommend getting a variable voltage/wattage device like the provari or vamo. Not because you will be changing settings very often but because it will give you a much more consistent vape. Standard rechargeables lose their kick over the course of a charge, most noticeably with the smaller ones.

Dave mentioned the Cobra which is a lovely rebuildable atomiser. Loads of different types of rebuildables out there now. When I started 3 years ago there were only about one or two of them, now there are mass-produced, limited editions, stainless-steel wicks, fibre wicks, dripping atomisers, bottom feeders, tanks, dual coil cartos, touch activated, ring activated, variable everything and horrible shite sold by newsagents and supermarkets. Lots of choice ;)

Just taken delivery of a Torpedo from Totally Wicked. Holy fuck! The pictures don't really give an accurate sense of the scale of it. 2200mAh battery, variable power from 3.0-6.0V, LCD on the body, with the mad clearomizer which holds 4-5ml, the body and mouthpiece it comes in at 20cm long, 2.5cm diameter. It's a beast.

I'll be avoiding that then. I am not a fan of TW, they have a propensity to overprice the shit out of everything and as you've noticed, don't provide the info you should need to know when choosing something.
