Thank you :o) It's quite big isn't it. Might have to opt for UMD this time around.

I picked this up today and it seems pretty fun . The games I have played so far are really easy, but it still requires far more concentration than something like Virtua Tennis 2009, which I could play out of the corner of my eye as I read an article on another monitor.

If you don't like timing based tennis games then you're going to hate it. For me though, I see it as the direction in which these types of sports games should be heading (whether it be this system or Top Spin 3's) as it does a far better job of emulating the game.

Playing it really makes me long for a new PS3 Everybody's game though.

    Do you have Media Go?

You could archive some of your other games out to your PC for a while.

Edit:Also the game asks you if you want to install on the Memory card to cut load times. Obviously you don't need to install with the download version because its already on your memory card.

I just unlocked a very funny sequence involving a Helghast character and now he's joined my club!

Very unexpected but amusing even though I couldn't give a flying one about Killzone.

I do use Media Go so that is a possible solution. I have found the UMD for a bit cheaper at my usual online store though. How big is the file it asks you to install to memory stick? If it's a large file I might as well just buy the download version.

The install is around 800mb I think, so it's only 300mb or so less than downloading it

Wow, that's big too. I wish the download version was cheaper - they really marked up the price on the NZ PSN (Compared to the UK price).

Edit: I just read somewhere else that the install file is around 400mb. Now I'm confused... is it 400mb or 800mb? If it's just 400mb I'll get the cheaper UMD version.

    Does anyone know for certain?

Right, I have funds and I have done some sneaky swapping between both my memory sticks to split the load.

Now, all I need is to download the thing - tomorrow morning :p

Installation is about 478MB on my version.

Liking it so far, but still having a few issues with getting to the actual ball - and baseline play...

Addicted to smashing opponents with a 100p rating...

I mixed up the MGSolid and ETennis installation sizes whoops!

    It is 478mb after all...

Thanks Hidden and Slint, a 478mb install sounds doable. Think I'll go ahead and get that cheaper UMD copy.

...and it's this that's really spoiling my enjoyment of the game.

Having to go 4 games without losing a point is hard enough but trying to get through 5 of them and missing a simple shot at match point is just....

IS the game too easy? There's nothing worse than an overly easy tennis game.

It's not hard to win the matches (at least I don't think so). The difficulty is in winning games with a 100 point rating by conceding no points on any game of the match. Sometimes it's easy when you have just 2 games to win but the most recent one I played was a 6 game match using one of the limited number of female players. The computer does have the ability to raise it's game just when you're cruising.

It's certainly not overly easy though.

I haven't had the game long but it had certainly seemed too easy for a while. Then I reached one particular boss and I actually lost a couple of times to him! The game even decided to tell me about "easy mode" at this point, (which I obviously ignored).

So while it starts out easy at first, it certainly seems to add some challenge later on.

    That's a great story.

I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

That you are the storyteller, and your story must be told.

In the stats section there is a medals won section.

What sort of things trigger you winning a medal?
Hours played etc or certain characters beaten?

Not sure what all the medals are by any means but here are the four I have and the requirements:

    100 Service aces
    100 Smash Aces
    100 Love games
    100 Return Aces

There's another 35 though but I could probably take a reasonable guess at what a number of them are based on the ones I've already unlocked.

I wouldn't mind knowing what any of the others are if some of you guys have ones I don't to give me an idea mind you

    100 Matches - Grass
    100 Matches - Hard

So from that, you'll probably also have:

    100 Matches - Clay

I also have a hunch there is:

    Max Loyalty all characters
100p rating in all non-boss matches?
    Max Equipment level
    All items - head
    All items - body
    All items - accessories
    Unlock all characters
    Unlock all Umpires
    Unlock all courses
    Complete the game's story mode

As I'm nearing the end, there may be special awards for beating certain players.

Those all sound pretty plausible to me. I'm sure I'll end up getting a lot of them eventually since I can barely put the game down once I pick it up!

I love this game so much that it's making me want to buy Everybody's Golf as well since I never got round to playing it. I'm not even a real golf fan, but trying the demos on psn I could see that it is a lot of fun.

If I could find me a nice cheap second hand copy of that somewhere I'll be all over it like a rash...

I've just ordered this from Shopto having been impressed by the demo. Are there any online modes? The EG review doesn't mention anything about multiplayer at all.

EDIT: Never mind, just read the first page. Shame.

Just Ad-hoc. I believe that Ad-hoc party (PS3) works with this though but can't confirm it officially.

Second to last player now but that elusive 100 rating is really hard to get. 98 points if I'm lucky :S
