Nice to see they have made it look like a serious game this time and not the bastard offspring of Windows XP.

The only problem i have with Civ is that i end up always playing one strategy. All peace until muskets appear, war for a hundred years, give up - sign peace treaty.. wait for marines to appear and then war again to the end. Perhaps this time i'll learn out to eke out the best from my cities.

Civ has always looked like and been a serious game. It's the fucking god of strategy games.

Civ 4 had a very chunky, playschool like interface and cartoon like graphics.

Don't try Civ Rev anytime soon in that case - your head might explode with the cuteness of it

Yeah, that took the 'simplified' look to the extreme. Wasn't the game terrible as well?

fwiw I actually really enjoy Civ Rev - very simplified but pretty entertaining nonetheless.
I want to get my teeth into a proper Civ game again, not just something I can blast through in a few hours.

If this doesn't come with a manual at least as thick as the DVD case I am going to be very disappointed.
