Just finished the first 10km that has felt like I was really in rhythm since I took what was effectively a little break during a busy period at the start of the month. Pleased to have dragged myself up to 75km this month despite that, though, as that's what I need to average the rest of the year to hit 1000km, and I'm going away for ten days next Monday so I didn't really want to fall behind early.

For some reason, the new-fangled Nike+ site isn't working properly for me on Chrome. When I synch a run or go to the site and click "login" there's an overlay with a little animation to indicate it's loading and it gets stuck on that.
I have to go to firefox to log into the stupid site.

    Anyone else having problems?

Yeah, that happens me. I have to switch to Safari to log in (mac)

Nice one ilmaestro! I've really been ramping up my kilometres lately, managed to hit 7k on Sunday. Looking forward to getting as fit as I was and keeping it up this time!

    When are the challies back?

Feel free to mock me for using that word.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Good stuff, this thread has been a great motivator for me to keep my running up as I was going through the progression of upping distance > decreasing time > upping distance, so stick at it!

I shall mock you even more than people who use "cheevos".

I think they said the "challies" were back in the fall, whenever that is... Hopefully around the time my broken legs get the all clear for running again.

Ran 50k in July, possibly my best effort for a while. Lacking any motivation for longer distances, but enjoying running 5k's, certainly puts less stress on the body.

Edit: Oh, and don't be dickheads. The word "challies" has no place in this thread.

The long runs can get boring or rather the thought of the long run can instill boredom. I really need to get some music on my phone. I've got 15k to do in an hour and bit!

Well I managed 3 5k runs in July. An improvement over my 2 5k runs in June. Which was a major step up from my zero runs during July'12 -> May '13.

I think I may have to start looking for new shoes. I never gave it much thought but I think I bought these about 3 years ago. I've not really put much distance on them though. (thye're some form or other of Nike+ shoes)

Haha, yeah, exactly. Half an hour before I can start to think "phew, gonna be a while before I'm free to do anything else", but by about ten minutes into the run any thoughts along those lines have gone.

Haha so true. I start to think how long I'll be away for, which puts off me running, which makes it longer to get back...

Ran 20k this morning, feel pretty good (albeit stiff and tired). Furthest run ever for me, managed to get my fastest 10k @ 52 minutes during the run too.

I bought the armstrap for the iphone that was linked to from here, works great. Only thing is the Nike+ app doesn't allow me to change artist during a run so was stuck with mellow jazz on repeat for 1:44!

Haha! Nice one dude! I hit 9.5k last night, felt great after. I've started making playlists of podcasts and tunes so I've got a nice mix of stuff to run to. Can just skip through the playlist from the Nike app when running.

So I went for my first 5k run since May last night, then I slipped the wife a length. To say my thighs are throbbing is an understatement.

Evening all, I have just signed up for this nike+ malarkey via my android phone.

Looks like challenges are off just now then though?

Hopefully get a few runs logged soon and see how it compares to runkeeper before pitting myself against folk here when/if the challenges are re-instated!

Yeah challenges are still out annoyingly. I've been getting back into my running over the past few months too, so I hope they bring them back soon.

Also I hope your thighs are better mrpon :D

Heh. So, I tried to download the free Nike+ Android app for my SG2 from the Play store. I get a "this app is not supported by your carrier"?! Wtf.

Anyway, found the apk file and sideloaded it. Worked a treat. Logged into my account and all my settings were still there; runs, PBs etc. Not sure yet if it works with the foot sensor but it certainly popped up a GPS icon when I tested it. More on this soon.

Next up for testing is the latest gen Nano, seems to have Nike+ built into it so just needs the foot sensor. I'll be testing this over the weekend.

Finally got my eye some Jabra Sport Bluetooth headphones. Mobilefun have them for 65 so I think I'll take the plunge soon on those, review to follow.

5k run tonight, just using the standard iPod Touch setup.

    mrp over and out.

Weird. It appears to work ok on my SG2. Not been for a run with it yet mind, but that's tomorrows plan. Got account, height, weight etc set up no bother though.

Bizarre. Can't find it on the Play store app on my phone. I have to load up the page on the browser:

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nike.plusgps&hl=en

And get "app is incompatible with all your devices"

Very odd. I'm with Vodafone, perhaps they are anti-fitness :)

I have a funny feeling the Nike+ app on android is limited to O2 for a period of time. Which is crap.

Maybd. I am on tesco, but they use allo2's stuff, so that may be it. Rather poor stuff if phone networks are trying shitey 'exclusivity' period bollocks like consoles do.

Well this app seems a bit odd. It had me down as doing 4 miles when I have checked the distance with car & bike before. They agreed that it was 3.5 miles. At least it lets you calibrate it, so it should be better next time.

Apart from that it seems fine. I think it's funky mileage mistake means I apparently ran a mile in 4:35 which is not likely. I hope it will correct itself if I re-sync it, although I only sync'd it after re-calibrating it anyway!

I assume that was outside V using the GPS? All methods require some form of calibration but seem fairly accurate once calibrated. Bear in mind when the challenges start any speed runs you recalibrate are not synced as valid by Nike+

Aye, it was done using the gps. Next time it should be better now it's calibrated.

I just hope the insanely quick mile result will eventually be replaced, as I'll never beat that!

BTW, it may be really cheesy, but I used this the other day and it worked as a good change of pace:
