Not really, I coud feel muscle strain when doing some work outside yesterday but I know I could easily run another 10k just wasn't sure whether to push it

Stretching properly before and after BG?

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

Yeah, that's a good point, post-run stretching is pretty much essential. I tend to warm up for about 15mins before setting off with some general core work and dynamic stretches. Then at the end walk a bit before some static stretching. Never used to bother all that much until I pulled my hamstring. Now I always make sure I stretch however I feel and I've remained injury free, albeit somewhat achey, since.

lol, no. Even after my 16k run which was knackering I did no stretching before or after! I just, you know, set off :-D

I guess I should do some exer-me-sizing before and after then. Any particular types?

Pre-run I don't really have a set routine, just a bunch of sit-ups, push-ups, chair dips, planks, bycle kicks etc. Tend to try different stuff, usually whatever's recommended in this months Runners World. Also a bit of dynamic stretching like lunges or something. Don't do static stretches pre-run though, or not until you've warmed up at least. Opinion varies on this, but I think general consensus is that static stretches on cold muscles are useless and possibly even detrimental.

Post-run I spend a few minutes doing some static stretches though probably not enough. Bare minimum would be wall-push to stretch out the calves, pull my leg up behind me to stretch the quads and a hamstring stretch on the stairs and from touching my toes.

    this might be useful.

Jesus man, you'll cease up!! (@ BG) As with any advice, apply what you feel is necessary. I personally fast walk for about 5 minutes then follow with half a dozen stretches making sure not to "bounce" the stretch. Similar on the cooldown.

    See here for some ideas.

Oh wow, this is crazy cakes. No further investigation needed as to why you felt something!

Hmm, looks like this'll be the last month of challenges for a while thanks to the site update...

Challenges are being revamped and will be back this Fall. Existing challenges are not being rolled over, so complete them by the end of May.
We'll lose the year long challenges too! Hope they reconsider this as I'll probably just end up using something else in the meantime...

Well that's shit. I bought one of their GPS watches mainly on the basis that I could log runs in these challenges.

They no longer have forums for us to whinge about it on either! Registered my annoyance on their facebook support thingy here though...

Where was that quote from AP? The VP of Nike+ makes no mention of that here.

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

It just popped up when I logged into the Nike+ site. Someone else asked a similar question on the support site and they responded with

Nike Running Hi there - Great to hear you're already gearing up for the new site. We wanted to let you know that goals and challenges are being revamped with new ways to challenge and be challenged by any Nike+ member. Runners will be able to challenge their Nike+ friends with miles or NikeFuel-based challenges, as well as 1:1 and group challenges. Existing goals and challenges will not be rolled over, so make sure you finish them up by May 31, 2012. Let us know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hmmm, noticed your question. Let's see what happens. Totally shitty if we lose everything.

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

Knobbers. Talk about a stock response. They could have replaced "arch rival" with "Gurgy".

I don't understand why there would appear to be such a long outage. In my mind Fall means, September/October time, why can't they keep the current system until then?

Hopefully enough people will complain and they'll reconsider, or at least offer some sort of alternative in the meantime.

I don't get why they don't develop the other system behind the scenes and have a seamless transfer in the "fall"? Or is that too much common sense.

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

Not good and a crap way to treat those who have spent a fair few quid on Nike + gear.

Also, just as I can see Black level on the horizon they introduce Volt at 15,000 km. Aaaarrggghhhh.

Wow, what a bunch of knobbers they truly are if that happens. I shall also be registering a complaint wherever I can.

If you want to bring some happiness to your lives after Nike ruined it by breaking our lovely challenges, you could all head here and sponsor me for my half marathon on Sunday. It's my first ever competitive half. I might die.

1:55:56. Had to stop for 10 minutes after 5 miles to nurse a hamstring tweak. In an absolute fuckton of pain. My legs hate me, they're doing all they can to make that quite clear.
