I didn't mean to say it was worse than 4 but I've not seen that one for years. Got the box set though but not got around to watching them yet due to watching f1, Tennis, Glastonbury etc. I think I'd probably still prefer 1-3 and Returns.

As soon as I get a chance, I'll watch 4. I remember watching it at the cinema years ago thinking it was bad. Can't be as biblically bad a sequel as Highlander 2 but I'm kind of hoping it will be.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I watched Supes 1 again yesterday. It's still awesome. It's still incredible that Christopher Reeve could just put on glasses, raise his voice an octave and stoop a bit and be wholly believable as a different person. The scene after the slightly weird "can you read my mind?" bit where he goes "there's something I've got to tell you" is amazing. It's like seeing a magic trick.

    Anyway, as you were.
One of the greatest scenes in filmdom. It always amazes me.

Anyone else think the liquid metal tech aged the film, thought it was really naff.

Didn't like Lois or Perry because they were so hollow, more like Amy Adams and Fishburne appearing as themselves.

Faora was pretty badass. Best of the bunch.

Diane Lane and her teeth. Costner was rather tame. Crowe always worth a watch

Wasn't the best film, just a bit thin and fast. Action didn't excite as much as I thought.

Why did Clark fall for Lois so easily, bizarre.

Overall, a bit cold and empty.

    "Nice!"
This reminds me of one of the final exchanges... "This can only end in one of two ways. Either you die. Or I die".

    Golf clap.
I immediately thought of Hot Shots Part Deux at that moment.

Lets settle this the old Navy way first one to die, loses!.

Warner Bros. is about to bring together two of its most iconic heroes: Superman and Batman will unite in a new film, the follow-up to “Man of Steel,” set for release in 2015.

According to two sources with knowledge of the movie, Warner Bros. intends to announce the news at its Comic-Con International panel Saturday morning. Said a Warner Bros. spokesperson, “We don’t comment on rumors regarding these properties.”

“Man of Steel” director Zack Snyder is expected to reunite with screenwriter David S. Goyer and star Henry Cavill for the new film. It’s unlikely Christian Bale will step back into the bat suit, as the actor has indicated publicly that he has moved on from his days as Bruce Wayne.

Snyder is co-writing the story with David S. Goyer
That should keep the hype down.

How can a super being who is nigh on indestructible with a ninja mortal guy with a lot of money really pan out, now batman with ironman would be interesting but with them being different franchises we know it's never going to happen.

Is it supposed to be like this?

Perhaps the premise will be Wayne wanting revenge on Superman after Metropolis asks Gotham for a bailout after the billions worth of damage El did to it.

Well, given that the twitter quote on this page is from Miller's TDKR, maybe it will have something to do with that. Maybe Batman taking issue with Superman being a government stooge etc.

Will probably be less interesting than that, though.

Update on Man of Steel Sequel: Ben Affleck will help write the script and has signed a multi-picture deal.

Is it supposed to be like this?

All he needs to do now is take over the directing.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Because his experience in directing big budget special effect driven films guarantees success.

Actually, i would be a hell of a lot more optimistic if that happened.

Man of Steel should have basically been Batman Begins (with Supes obviously) - a character driven story, detailing one hero's journey of emerging from the shadows to being a shining light for his city's inhabitants.

However, what we got was a complete CGI-fest of absolute chaos. True, Snyder cant take all the blame, it was very poorly written too, but ultimately when things go wrong, it all comes back on the director.

Personally, i think Affleck will be fine as Batman. Hes had a career of ups and downs (as an actor) and his acting ranges from terrible (Pearl Harbour, Gigli) to bordering on excellent (Hollywoodland, The Town). For the last seven or eight years now (pretty much since he started directing himself) he has been consistently solid as an actor.

For me, Snyder and Goyer are the problem.

The VFX Oscar nominations are out.

Man Of Steel isn't one of them. Much as I dislike the film, they certainly were better then World War Z I thought.

    Elysium
    Gravity
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
    Iron Man 3
    The Lone Ranger
    Oblivion
    Pacific Rim
    Star Trek Into Darkness
    Thor: The Dark World
    World War Z
