It's our illustrious editor Tom Bramwell's 10th birthday at Eurogamer. Hurrah! Perhaps you'd like to give him your best? Perhaps you'd like to marvel at his wordplay and read his very first review.

It's the 6 out of 10 that essentially set the tone for the next 10 years. Thanks NHL Championship 2000.

    Anyway. Happy Birthday Tom!

Woo! Congrats on the decade Tom :)

Edit: Hope that cupcake doesn't kill you, cause on your 10 year anniversary, that'd be a shame.

    Congrats to Tom!

Maybe now you can take a break to concentrate on your Irish showband career.

    Congratulations Tom!

What's with all the EuroGamer in those old articles? When did the camel-case get dropped?

Halo Mac/X-Box simultaneous release Mugwum | 10:29am BST

According to this report at MSXBox.com, the Mac and X-Box versions of Halo will be released at the same next year. This information was supplied to them by Ed Fries of Microsoft, in his keynotes speech at MacWorld (Microsoft addressing the MacWorld convention is something of a twisted image). With the X-Box still some considerable way off, naturally people are concerned, but it looks as though Oni, Bungie's other title will be out courtesy of Take 2 and GODGames beforehand, so that should tide Mac, PC and potential X-Box users over for a while.

10 years of lying and deceit. I hope you are ashamed of yourself.

    Congrats. :p

We were so very young and inexperienced back then. So many things have changed. I think "EuroGamer" officially gave way a few years ago.

I still remember the first time I met Rupert and Nick Loman in London to talk about whether I could do anything with them on EG. I remember all the arguments between Kristan, Rob Fahey and myself in hotel rooms in LA about our E3 coverage. I remember when I first met Ellie (in Paris, bizarrely - we're so decadent). I remember John Bye convincing me to spend hundreds of pounds on NTSC DVDs. I remember all the site relaunches - sitting in Rupert's converted garage when I was in my early 20s for 48 hours reformatting content, making images fit our bizarre layout ideas. I remember doing my pay reviews in Rupert's mum's lounge. I remember the terror wrought by Feersum_Boundah in the early comments threads - seems pretty funny in hindsight! So many fun and funny memories. It's been a lovely place to work.

You've all be awesome too, even when I've not. I guess this is day one of my 11th year and I still found myself walking to work with a spring in my step, excited about the day ahead. Thanks everyone.

P.S. Please stop posting links to all my old stuff. I hate everything older than about 10 minutes ;-)

    P.P.S. Much love!

Do you remember coming to the first geekmeet at the Orange Tree in Pimlico?
