If anyone has a Moto or Lenovo phone, Google play keeps misreporting that Bluetooth is a dangerous app and kindly offering to disable it.

    Probably best not to.

Bluetooth? Is that a stand alone app? I have a Motot Z play and I haven't seen this. I usually have Bluetooth turned off though since I've no use for it.

Google is correct. The vast majority of phones will never receive the patch for this exploit. Having Blutooth switched on is now a massive vulnerability.

I was wondering too (Moto G4), earlier today I allowed it to disable bluetooth, I don't use it anyway so I should be fine

Yeah, according to my note3, I'm a few security patches behind. 03.11.2015 was my last one :-/

I also have Bluetooth on all the time for my watch.

We'll see how widespread it gets or if it's the usual scaremongering that actually amounts to nothing really.

Got my Samsung S3 tab today. I love it. Pricey like most things these days but the screen is lush and it's just great to have an android tab again.

@Addy_B haha I nearly corrected your earlier posted thinking you'd mistyped S8. Didn't realise you meant tablet. My mum has the big 10inch sammy one from last year. It is swish and a joy to use but I just wouldn't use it over my laptop.

    @crashVoodoo

Yeah this is the 9.7 one. I agree it will never replace my work laptop for my actual work but since a big part of my work now involves mobile apps (sql, power bi and other reporting) it should do nicely. Definitely wins comfort factor wise for slobbing out and watching some Netflix or whatever. The display is really nice.

Picked up my Note 8 today.

Is it a thing that some podcasts available on iOS are not available on Android?

Any podcast/podcast app tips in general for an Android newbie?

Pocket Casts is the app I keep coming back to on android, if you don't want to pay for it then podcast addict is good just not as pretty.

I haven't found any podcasts that are iOS only.

I also use pocket casts. Hedger failed me. Which podcast is it you can't find? It's like having an iOS exclusive blog... i.e. super weird but not undoable

I've just checked some of those and they're on there. Some apps use the iTunes directory, a few might not and singing like Spotify is rubbish for podcasts.

The suggested ones have things like variable speed, trimming silence etc which are all great if you listen to loads.

Podcast Addict is worth a punt. Tried a few and it does everything right.

I'm another Pocket Casts user. It can automatically trim silence which should save you some time.

Recently switched to Android, and lost my Authenticator app settings along the way.

Now struggling to add Microsoft back to it as it seems to want a code from the authenticator to before it will let me add it to the authenticator.

Can't be arsed pushing it too far and blocking my account for 28 days.

    Anybody been through this?

Ever find that it cuts the end of podcasts?

Not so far. Usually the end of a podcast is just junk anyway.

You should use Authy. You can back up/share the tokens to the Chrome plugin or another device like a tablet.

Do you not have any other device logged in to your Microsoft account? You'll probably have to contact Microsoft support to regain access if you don't have an email or mobile number associated with your account.

Since the 15th September its been 1 day 15 hours for me. I reset my stats every so often for some reason.

Don't expect anything exciting from the new pixels, just about everything has been leaked and the squeezable phone was underwhelming when HTC did it before.

2 days, 17 hours. Speaking of podcasts, I can thoroughly recommend Adrift, with Geoff Lloyd and Annabelle Port (former Absolute radio presenters). It's very funny.

I've been listening to all the Giant Bombcasts from the start, they're a great alternative to listening to a lot of people in the office.

Two steps authentication is pretty cool, but I must admit it's made resetting/upgrading the phone a bit less immediate than it used to be.

I'll take the extra security though.

My MotoX 2014 is on it's last legs. I'd prefer to keep using it, it's a great phone but the battery is dreadful by now.

I have it on a charger at my desk all day. If I dare to take it away from a power source, I have about 2-3 hours before it dies. Using it full time to surf/watch video/play a game will kill it within the hour.

I was hoping the new Moto X could be a good replacement but everything that was released so far in relation to that was a bit underwhelming.

    *sigh*

Not sure what to get next. Maybe I should get some repair shop to swap in a new battery for me.
