By the sounds of it which ever is smallest ;-)

I find the size of the flagship phones a little off putting. It's a big part of why while I flirt with the idea of upgrading my S2 I actually don't want to part with it. It's pretty much invisible when in my pocket and has proved itself to be tough as old boots.

But still big enough for most web use.

Is there anything with a similar form factor with an updated spec that's going to get as good ongoing support from xda?

Thing is about size - it just seems impractical to use to make calls. But then that's probably what I use it for the least, and my gaming/web browsing might benefit from a larger screen...

    Decisions, decisions

I was in the same boat when getting the S3 after three years of using an iPhone, and I got used to the size pretty quickly. It's still comfortable for making calls (and I've got small hands), and the benefits of having such a big screen outweigh the negatives.

S4, with that funky "detect when you're looking at it" technology.

    I wouldn't have lasted 15 seconds.
I glance away from my screen when I'm doing the face recognition thing and that doesn't take any time at all.

Fuck off whoever is making the "what she said" joke below this post!!

So, decided the HTC One is the way to go :)

Actually looking forward to getting one now, and getting stuck in to Android.

Ok, anyone, what's the best android phone I can get for 150-250?

Looking for something really quick and responsive. My Xperia U is a great phone, but it's just not powerful enough to cope with much :(

My 18 month old S2 died today. Just sat on the table, turns itself off. Turning it on, it gets stuck at the the Galaxy s9100 splash screen. Booting it into recovery mode gets it as far as the pulsing Samsung screen a couple of times, no further. Now it won't do anything :(

I second the Nexus 4. Ordered the 16GB one on Saturday. Arrived at my workplace today. Enjoying it and beginning to scratch the surface.

Anyone having issues signing in to their Google Account? Kicked me out of Gmail, got suspicious as I couldn't sign in so changed my password....let me back in then, but unable to sign in on Android (or if I sign out of Chrome).

    You got two-step authentication on?

Think I'll just switch everything off.

Just gave it a go myself, no issues here, and Service Status doesn't seem to show any issues just now.

Getting some weird shit.... Swapped a battery out to charge my spare, and when it had rebooted, I couldn't connect via wifi. Rebooted phone and router etc, still no joy. Then noticed my clock and date were wrong.... The auto-network option had come unchecked. Checked it, all fine since. Weird as cheese!

I recently got a HTC one but what is this two step authentication you speak of?

It's available on your google account normally.
I think the idea is that you provide a mobile phone number.
When you want to change your google account password, you get sent a txt with a code for authentication which you need to submit.

Should stop 3rd parties from locking you out of your account.

Ah, thanks for the info. I am a bit too tinfoil hat to give Google my mobile number but that's probably stupid as they no doubt have it anyway. I will track it down.

I recently bought an Acer Liquid E2, after previously vowing to never buy another Android phone again after the shit I had with the HTC Desire.

Everything was going along lovely. OS (4.2.1 with very little Acer shit included) seemed usable and the phone extremely fast. Unfortunately its decided to shut down randomly and only come back on after I've removed and reinserted the battery. Battery level doesnt seem to matter as its went anywhere from at 36% to 89% battery level.

I've removed all apps that I've installed in the hopes that one of them is causing it, but has anyone else had such problems? Or is it a dodgy device?
