Quite a bit like Crysis 2 actually. Attack on NYC. Nanosuit.
-
It seems to be a Japanese interpretation of generic western shooters.
-
Did they announce platforms? Seems a bit odd not to mention them.
-
That's San Francisco, and it's a Platinum Games title - I'd say it's something worth getting very interested in.
-
Trailer also on their website now.

Registered 8 years agoIt does look very reminiscent of PN03 on the Gamecube in terms of the body armour they show in the clip.
But platinum games?
After the debacle of Bayonetta on PS3, I hope they pull their finger out this time and make sure it works on all target systems. -

It might be like Turrican. Hopefully. Maybe.
Probably not, actually. But it made me think about going off and playing Turrican. :-D -

Platinum only developed the 360 version of Bayonetta, SEGA handled the PS3 port.

Exactly what I thought! It looked like they were putting a mini arc reactor in to the suit in one of the scenes.
It's the Japanese Iron Man!
Anyway, it looks good. Anything by Platinum has me interested. -

Registered 8 years agoThe name's interesting, at least. I think it's the biggest clue about what they're making, than the clip, that just sets the background out. Will see where they go with this. -

Yeah. The resemblance is a little worrying. I was hoping for more Godhand.
Mikami directed PN 03 as well didn't he? The 'suit' seem borrowed. -

Turrican + Halo + Transformers' Jetfire/Skyfire + Macross + Japanese Iron Man = wantツ

Great. It seems at the moment to be a complete reverse of the mid-late 90's when Western developers tried to emulate Japanese games badly

Platinum still have no experience with the PS3 right? Another SEGA conversion or are they getting some new programmers in?

I can believe that.
It's rumoured to be a PS3 developed game, that'll be 1 Wii, 1 360 and 1 PS3...

Quantum Theory esque ... i.e. looks quite uninspiring.

Yeah I thought about that game briefly whilst reading the preview, but unlike the Tecmo team, Shinji Mikami and Clover pedigree is near faultless.
God Hand was the first game to really nail the 2D beat em up in 3D, I put it up there with Metroid Prime for what it achieved in terms of the skill in implementing a 2D-3D transition whilst keeping the spirit of the game/genre intact.
If they can do the something like that here with side scrolling shooters then I'll overlook the unoriginal set up. -

Registered 6 years agoDespite the generic appearence of this game I´m kind of intruiged by this. Not sure why. Maybe 'cause it´s being developed by Platinum... -

Though the crotch punch manouvre could win me back if executed well.ツ

Well we (I) laughed at the thought of Bayonetta, and that turned out great. So you never know ...
