I love my iPad but the layout of the OS is getting very old now they need to change it and move towards tiles or something it just looks dated.

Honestly, I hope they don't. Android looks just cluttered.

    +1
Bugger that Windows & Andriod mess. Nice clean hardware and nice clean software. Simple but effective.

You design the layout so essentially you're saying you're a clutterist.

Only I don't have an Android phone. I'm just talking from looking at other peoples' phones.

I was thinking more like Windows 8 tiles its modern and looks lush.

Would love to use that but as always the tablets will be gash compared to the look and feel of the iPad.

I agree, but where can they go from here without making it look like a mess and making things less simplified for both young and old people...?

I hope iOS 6 freshens things up a little bit though.

    How? Who knows...!

    : )

You'll be waiting for another five months for that...!

I do love my iPad, use it nearly every single day, but I am slightly underwhelmed with what I saw of iOS 6 seeing as nothing will change in terms of aesthetics and appearance ... maybe/hopefully next year?

I know that, but I'm looking forward to it all the same.

Get the Smart cover. Works a treat, doesn't add bulk.

    Smart cover or smart case?

By the way, I like the free engraving you get buying from Apple. I went for:

"If found please call 07xxx xxxx"

Small chance of anyone doing it if I lose it, but worth the effort.

Seems to work fine synced with my other devices and all my bookmark and password saves all work.

Better than all the others so far and I have tried just about all the browsers on the iPad.

Love the fact u can leave tabs open and then see them on the phone version or desktop version.

Never liked the smart cover. Overpriced for what it is and doesn't even protect the back.

Gumdrop Drop Tech or Switcheasy Canvas are much better. The Drop Tech is great if you have young kids.

Just bought my lass one.  32gb, WiFi only,  black iPad 3. I was going to get it in the US, but with US sales tax and getting Ł35 voucher from apple, the price difference was minimal. Now need a cover and to help her choose some apps.

Remember you can share apps, if you're happy giving each other your logins.

I quite like the smart cover, apart from the grey one picks up dirt very quickly. Mrs has the pink one and that looks better (relatively). Don't really ever take ours out the house though

It's good but I want bookmark folders at the top, not separate!

Just got my iPad and unpacked it. Downloaded some comic readers and went to move some CBR files from my Mac to the iPad.

Jesus Christ! What a fucking pain.

What has apple got against file structures and drag and drop? I can only transfer stuff via iTunes, and then each program (I downloaded 5 seperate readers to see which one I prefer) has to have the files copied to them seperately. I know Apple like their walled gardens and so on, but this is silly.
