Registered 7 years agoI quite like 'Canvas' as a name. iSlate, iTablet and iPad all sound a bit shit. 'Apple Tablet' is ok I guess. -

Registered 8 years agoIt'd be really useful to know who else is reading the same book and have their realtime twitter updates between paragraphs. Also invites to facebook groups appearing down the left. wicked! -

Calm down the rest of you, put your Cox away.gif)
Back OT, I think it will blow existing ereaders away - I love the idea, but none of the existing ones really appeal. As well as all the other stuff! If the video conferencing is true too, I think it will properly introduce video phone calls. -

Ughhh... sounds like that terrible comments system Nico Nico Douga has.
Kevin Rose was on about some of the possibilities with this even just as an eBook reader, the ability to have little annotations in books (for example, you're reading about a war, and then they could throw in a little YouTube clip to help give you some perspective) and also the chance to share things with your friends, or even other people.
So for example you're following some famous author, and you're reading this book and suddenly a little icon would come up with a little note, and you'd be like oh cool, I didn't know they read this! And you can see what they said about that bit -
The potential is there, sure, but there's no way I'd ever buy first-gen Apple tech as it will ultimately lead to me feeling screwed over in about 10-12 months when they release v2.0

No Blize. We see potential but we also see rapetackular prices that certain appleites love to ignore because of the oh so pretty design of their wonderful joy joy products that will one day save the planet.
Just because you don't see the potential, doesn't that hundreds of thousands of people won't.
Come and get it cumslingers!
