I saw QOS as Part 2 of Casino Royale. I thought it was tight, well paced and dealt with the issues raised in CR, allowing the next movie to be a blank slate.

I don't really recall there being too many gadgets in QOS.... I felt it was old school overall.

Roger Moore is a bit of a gayer though.

I like them all really. Except this new Po faced, back to the original vision when Bond was a boring, overly serious turkey type direction.

If he was nearby you would be laying at his feet after he chopped you with a deadly karate blow.

QOS would have been better if they pointed the camera at the bits where people were shooting/getting shot rather than waggling the camera around and putting music over someone getting slow mo thrown.

Casino Royale and QOS are an excelent direction for the franchise.

Don't you think they were really quite different to each other though?

I was dissapointed how much of a step-back QoS was after CR really revamped what Bond was all about. It really wasn't too far from the likes of Die Another Day in terms of how silly the plot and charachters were and all that. They even brought back the magical gadgets.

    I stand with Kalel.

Die Another Day turned Bond into xXx with a tuxedo. It needed to go back to it's roots.

New Bond is so much better than the Bosnan era. Hopefully QOS was a blip, because Casino Royale was as good as anything from the Connery era.

Loved the heart attack followed by finishing the game. Character scenes > invisible cars anyday.

I think theyíre very different films tonally. Have you watched them close together? You should (or at least you should if you want to see how different they are).

Casino Royale is extremely patiently paced and thereís really not much action in it at all. Thereís no gadgets really, in fact hardly any guns at all either, and itís all about Bondís characters as said.

QoS established within 5 minutes how different it is. That opening car chase sets the tone for the whole film. Itís bombastic, flashy, fantastical and significantly less believable.

Bond is supposed to be massively silly escapism! A man with a massively silly name had a hand in making all the best ones. The franchise died with him.

Which is a huge fail for a bond film. I mean really. Go and watch Schindler's list or something.

There's plenty of shit action films if that's what you want to watch, I don't know why you feel Bond has to be one as well.

Because it always has been. Bond's character is about as interesting as Master Chief's. He is just a vehicle for an all out action cheese fest. There is nothing remotely interesting about the man himself other than the beautiful women he constantly drills. Or should, they've even tried to break that.

I thought the intention of QoS intended to reintroduce some of the 'bondness' to the franchise which meant semi believeable gadgets, the usual puns but slightly obscured (you have to read the credits to see that Agent Fields firstname is strawberry) and more action albeit delviered in a stylised 'grown up' way. Personally I really liked what they tried to do with the opera scene and slowmo shootout in the kitchens but though it all seemed a bit rushed with a disjointed story and some pointless action scenes like the plane chase and boat chases and the finale at the hydrogen bomb hotel.

Hopefully the thrid one will manage to harness the good bits of both great scenes like the poker game with intelligent action set pieces whislt telling a coherrent story.

No, I think they've all been pretty poor since the Broccoli shuffled off this mortal coil.

"When in Ciaro, one must delve deep into it's treasures!"

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

There's also plenty of srs biznz 'Bourne-style' action flicks around these days. Why does Bond have to be one of those?
