Is now a goer and has a possible director in the shape of Sam Mendes:

    More here.

    That's an inspired choice.

I'm really looking forward to a better Bond than the very average Quantum of Solace.

    "is in negotiations"

Story probably placed by agent, as will be the hundreds of other stories about cast and choice of title song band.

Is John Cleese gonna be Q?

The strange thing is I hold The Dragon Age series up as example of diversity and choice, the fact that the brothels in DA service everybody, male/female with multiple options, to remove the brothels is a step backwards for diversity IMO

    Stephen Fry should be Q!

QoS was a big step back towards the old style. I expect to see him surfing on a glacier in the next one.

The way the piece was written lead to that, going from an "in negotiations" tone to a "Sure fire certainty"

    My prediction:

Nice locations, lots of sony product placement, Aston Martins and a poor Bourne clone.

Well Peter Morgan is one of the writers attached also, he wrote Frost/Nixon and the Queen. Couple that with Mendes who's more of a character director than action orientated and we've got an interesting Bond movie. Certainly more along the lines of Casino Royale than Quantum of Solace.

Let's get to the important question. Who would your 2 Bond girls be? I'd go with Katee Sackhoff and Annie Wersching, who played Renee Walker in 24 series 7.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I'll go with Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz, an Helen Mirren as Cleb or whatever the poison shoe tip crone was. :D

Wersching is foxy and that chest, oh yes but wouldn't fit that well as a Bond Girl which might be a good thing and the other is too close to being a guy.

James Bond written by an award-winning character piece writer and directed by an award-winning theatre-schooled director actually sounds arse.

That's not Bond. I bet there's not even a hint of inyourendo.

    Boo.

It was the bird from Slumdog Millionaire that was yesterday's "signed up" actress to be a Bond girl. Except that it was the first she had heard of it.

I love a bit of inyourendo, but I will happily give it up if it means no more invisible cars and snow surfing. Die another day had a great start and Pierce Brosnan made a great Bond but the rest of the movie made me vomit bile.

Casino Royale and QOS are an excelent direction for the franchise.

Don't they have to have more than one Bond girl now? One white girl, one girl from an ethnic minority.

As long as no one from the Brosnan era touches any future projects. God, I hate every single one of Pierce's efforts.

Daniel Craig is worse than every other Bond. Wobbly lipped, humourless bellend.

    FCUTA!

Don't you think they were really quite different to each other though?

I was dissapointed how much of a step-back QoS was after CR really revamped what Bond was all about. It really wasn't too far from the likes of Die Another Day in terms of how silly the plot and charachters were and all that. They even brought back the magical gadgets.

Everyone knows that Sean Connery is the only decent Bond.
