"Morality...." and then explains what the word means to people who don't understand.

    LOL.

It's going to be a close battle between this and Transformers 4 as to what will be the shitter film.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I dont think its going to be that close since transformers started badly and managed to get worse with every subsequent movie.

My main worry is I'm not sure the makers of this version got the original. I'm reading an article about it in Empire and they say about ED-209 "it's now way more mobile. The legs can elevate up and down, the head can track left to right, the arms can rotate" and "our one is pretty sophisticated. He has no trouble with stairs."

Wasn't the point of the original design over function? Something that just looks badass just so it can make money. As they say in the first film "who cares if it worked"?

Yeah but they've gone all meta with this film as that's what they will say about the film itself.
'It made money, who cares if it worked!?'

    You dare to strike Scurrcules!?

I suppose in that regard it could actually end up being the ultimate satire.

I'd say 3 is better than 2 - if one can grade turds.

As bad, as I'm sure this will be, I can't see it being Transformers level bad.

I'm not sure what's bad about Transformers. The first one anyway. First time we really got a live action movie with giant robots fighting each other - plus they transformed into vehicles to boot. Did everything I expected from a Transformers movie. Better than the cartoons at the very least.

Plot holes, USA, USA, USA, a cast of hundreds of main human characters compared to a handful of robots, unnecessary slow motion, quick cut badly framed action and "humour"...
Mind you, the first one was infinitely better than the second...

Yeah I'm not praising it as some cinematic masterpiece, but if someone said "hey we're going to watch Transformers" I'd be like "Oh OK". The first movie is the best thing with the Transformers name that I've seen is kind of what I'm saying.

Just watched that CES promo again...

Seriously, was this a lesson in how not to act? Who is this guy? Is he part of the main movie, i don't recognise him...

Also on the whole ED209 issue, seems like they lost the whole point! It's supposed to be like a big dumb trained animal compared to robocop's humanity. Corporation vs common man, David vs goliath, America vs every fucker they invaded gung ho and got their ass handed to them... It had a personality, growling and squeling and there was only one (at first) that was an intimidating beast! Seems like they've removed all that and reduced it to just another enemy to gun down.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, getting "butt hurt" over nothing, but ED209 was one of my favourite characters growing up, so feel strongly about it!

I think you're doing the latter, which is a very internet-y thing to do?

I'm willing to bet a dollar ED209 will also have a basic design flaw as an abode to the original. They are talking up it's "flawless design functions" way too much.

Looks alright to me. Not Robocop of course, but passable.

I'd kick the living daylights out of the producers of Tipping Point - Ghandi

The theme tune renders any talk of the cartoon being bad invalid.

Oh dear indeed. I love how the music is so dreadful it's like everyone involved knows the movie stinks so they're not even trying.

Must've got inspiration from Ass Creed.

So he is basically a human in future armour now. FFS.

Weller's robotic voice & movement in the original provided a lot of the charm.

The only good thing I can see in this is that Miguel Ferrer is in the cast, probably in a cameo role.

Won't be any "Fuuucccckkk Jones!" in this one.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Miguel Ferrer is probably only in it because he went through the wrong studio door when filming NCIS:LA.
