They've made Robocop look like a giant dildo!

It is going to make a zillion bucks and we will all probably watch it.

The orginal was a good movie but the franchise was a downward spiral of shite, so the only way is up! (Props Yazz!)

I like the concept alluded to in the second trailer: OCP trying to pimp warbots onto the streets and are using Robocop to do it through the back door.

"...dont worry, here comes inventor man Gary oldman in the inventor mobile, ready to fix up Robo so he can get straight back in the robocopter to fight crime!"

If you set you expectation level to zero, and blank out the fact that they're fucking up the character it really doesn't look that bad.

Just like the Total Recall remake, which this has all the hallmarks of.

So what OCP was trying to do in the original movie then?

Do it through the front door, really. Robocop and ED-209 were just competing prototypes for the same role. Also, that role was really to pretend to be good at upholding the law where the plan was for the city to fall apart so they could rebuild.

Yeah, the ED209 was going to get deployed but 20 second to comply'd that dude, so they put it on the back burner in favour of the robocop project.

He was the first prototype of the robocop range.

Wonder if the director was told "we want the remake as good as Robocop too" and he heard "we want the remake as good as Robocop 2".

Why the hell is Robocop jumping around like that in the trailer. He should be slow and stompy with lots of gear sounds whirring away like a proper robot / cyborg.

The director watched a bit too much metal gear solid

I can't remember the last really good film I saw at the cinema. It's all bullshit make as much cash out of the dumb-ass public. There's no imagination left anymore. Porn is rubbish too. Tbf I'm mad as he'll right now.

looks like garbage and will be rated 12a / pg13. will be a kids film with no violence, no swearing, none of the grit that made the original so good.

Don't despair, if the Robocop remake is rubbish, you can wait for the Roadhouse remake. To be directed by the guy who made xXx, or XXX or is it XxX, or xxx.

Even Steve Jobs wasn't that over-dramatic!

I forget when the original Robocop was set, but at least in that one OCP didn't exactly announce that Murphy was Robocop as I recall. For the filmmakers to expect us to accept turning living people into cyborgs (assuming that like the original, this is not just armour and augmented limbs, but a reprogrammed brain as well) in a mere 13 years time seems a little unlikely. Although I admit I'm probably overthinking a puff-piece promotion for a half-baked hollywood story.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

    Wasn't Terminator 2 a pg-13? Or a 12a even?

    15 for T2.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

It would be nailed on for a 12 now. I reckon you could even swing a PG if you bought the assessor a pint.
