Brilliantly, my girlfriend's New Year's resolution is to play more computer games.

So I'm looking for a game which we can play co-op. Insanely, I own a PS3, Xbox 360 and a Wii so no restrictions on that front, but she's not into anything violent (so MW2 is out sadly), and music games tend not to be welcomed by the neighbours. Uncharted 2 looked ideal if it had offline co-op (which it doesn't, right?)

    Any suggestions?

(FYI, most of the 'hide the salami' jokes have been covered here http://www.eurogamer.net/forum_thread_posts.php?thread_id=156410&start=0 but don't let that stop you if you think of a worthy new one...)

You don't consider that just a tad violent? :)

There's also point and click games like Monkey Island or Sam and Max. Had two girlfriends who weren't really into gaming but enjoyed those as we could participate figuring out the puzzles without both of us doing the controls.

My wife's new years resolution 2 years ago was to play more games. It lasted till 2nd of January (much like the 'diet' she starts every year).

Hope your GFs one lasts longer!

In regards to a suggestion, what about Super Mario Galaxy? I know its a bit old now, but as an ice breaker to games its a pretty good one?

Worked just like that with my gf. Then I'd win and she'd stomp off, or she'd win and get sarcy.

Yeah she enjoyed that but no multiplayer. (Also it's the one of the best game ever made IMHO)

New Super Mario Bros Wii is a great choice.

I also find that my missus and I play Zelda quite a lot, both individually and together on the DS.

This generation has seen a real lack of multiplayer games that accommodate more than one player in the same room. Back in the day, multiplayer games meant getting your mates around or having your family in one room and splitscreening. This internet enabled console lark is a real pain for those of us who enjoy multiplayer on one screen.

    Borderlands.

    It's a must!

EDIT: The lego games aren't bad in co-op either.

Yeah we have Buzz but it's pretty dull with just the two of you.

Might sound silly, but for introducing people to games,old-school stuff like Bubble Bobble and Super Bomberman are great as they have simple controls.
