Registered 5 years agoFuck yes. So are they just reuniting for a tour, or are they actually composing anything new? If it's the former, I don't really care. If it's the latter, I hope Cornell can hold off being a twat and Timbaland is given a restraining order. -

That's who supported Soundgarden when I saw them in '94

Great to see Soundgarden back together but I also want Matt to stay with Pearl Jam, not sure they'd be willing to recruit another drummer after being through so many and goin through all that again. -

Cool i like'd Black hole sun and Rusty cage also his solo for Casino Royale ..... You know my name. He has a great voice just needs to find the right output as Soundgarden are a bit shit to be honest. Hopefully they get in a good lyracist and songwriter and maybe they will come good.

This is excellent news!
Soundgarden albums have been circulating in my playlist for decades now, and they still feel as fresh and progressive as ever.
Kim Thayill in particular is a bit of a hero for me. His use of alternative tunings, compound timings and a strong eastern influence combine to produce a unique sound.
Soundgarden make the kind of complex, beautiful albums in which you can find more depth on every listen. I really hope they are writing new material and not just doing nostalgia tours..
Personal faves: Searching with my good eye closed, Jesus Christ Pose, Outshined. -

Both of which are of course inferior to badmotorfinger.

They just felt a little overproduced by comparison although do have some awesome tracks. -

Registered 9 years agoIt'd be nice to see him with 'em again, but sadly his voice seems to be arseholed these days so a live gig would fail to deliver. Smells like they've just seen Alice In Chains do well and wanna get in on it, esp as Cornell's solo stuff is shite and Audioslave were a bit meh.I'm a grumpy bastard.

His voice seems fine, not sure why you think otherwise?

Registered 6 years agoA lot of shows he's done over the last few years, he's struggled with his voice.
I'm not gonna go searching for articles to prove it, but it's well documented. -

Registered 8 years agoGreat news. Hopefully they`ll stick around long enough to tour the UK. One of those bands i always wanted to see but almost gave up any hope of ever getting the chance to.gif)
And big up Jesus Christ Pose. How many stiff necks did that song give me in my younger days!! -

He has to stay, not only because i'm seeing them in June in Ireland but because he has been an awesome drummer for Pearl Jam in the last 10 years. He's easily one of the best drummers of my generation. Watching "The Matt Cam" for In My Tree from the 2000 touring DVD is quite amazing.
I guess it's still possible he could play for both, Eddie Vedder had a solo tour a year and a bit ago then went touring with PJ after releasing a new album.
The only other man that could replace Matt would be Dave Abbruzzese but he hasn't played with the band since 1994. -

You like that Timbaland produced album 'Scream'? I cannot stand it. It might as well be Nelly Furtado singing on that Album as opposed to CC. I don't know much about it all but it suggests to me that Chris Cornell pumped loads of his own money into that (ie. Paid Timbaland Top Dollar) to make a hit. And it wasn't was it? Also what's 'cv'? I'm imagining some sort of martial art or Yoga?uiruki wrote:
I train/do cv to Scream. Just can't get enough of CC. have you heard him play all the tracks acoustically ? sounds great (as you would expect) just him and guitar
As long as they don't let Timbaland anywhere near this, then this should be good.gif)
