    What was that game that you kept on playing that really was either average or slightly above average but you nigh on became addicted to it.

    My choice, The conduit, the singleplayer was pretty much a throw-away but the multiplayer was definately the reason that kept me playing!

    Well it didn't really keep me playing after I finished it but I personally loved Bionic Commando, seems that the far majority of others really hated it but I had a great time with it while it lasted.

    Red Faction Guerilla, campaign and multiplayer. It looked a bit bland but wrecking stuff never gets old.

    SSF2THDR, while the whole world was playing SF4 I quietly went back to HDR and never really felt the need to return to SF4.

    Probably Peggle.

    I know some people think Peggle is good, but it isn't. It's an evil non-game cheating luck-based fuckcunt, but I still play it quite a lot.

    I like Peggle! Peggle high scores have brought me and the missus closer to divorce than anything else ever.

    F1 2009 on Wii. Awful, awful AI (ie the CPU cars ram you on corners all the time), but it's miles more fun than other F1 efforts.

    And I second The Conduit too, got it for a fiver and I've had fun with it.

    Most of the posters here are missing the point by naming genuinely good games. Blerk has the right idea.

    Mine is probably Lego Indiana Jones, which I got as a present and couldn't put down even though it's the weakest of the Lego series by some margin.

    Put 40 hours into Fuel, had crap reviews but I really enjoyed driving around and taking in the sights.

    My hopes of cultivating my kids (when I do have one) so that they will only play non-rubbish games is not going to work out well, is it?

    On a similar note, I'm addicted to Bejewelled Blitz on the Ipod Touch. All the time I'm playing it I'm thinking "I should/could be playing a *real* game - why the hell am I doing this?" but yet I keep playing.

    All iPod Touch games are guilty pleasure games now I come to think of it

    Quite possibly not as there is no accounting for kids' fickle interests.

    I tried to get mine to play SMG, but no, Sonic was a sold shoe-in above that.

    As for my personal 'guilty pleasure' 100's more hours on Civ Rev on 360 again. Hardly "guilty" per se, but I do question myself why I'm not playing Civ4 seeing as the PC is in the same room as my 360
