it may have been mentioned before but i really recommend megacity. it's not sim city (the pics make it look like it) but is a rather good wee puzzle game. it's not perfect but it's very entertaining.

I know I've said it before, and it's not just on android, but fucking hell pocket is awesome. I've had weeks at a time in a small village in Nepal with no internet, but with semi-regular trips to Kathmandu I've always had a wealth of stuff to read. With that and my kindle, I'm set.

    It's the cow's tits.

Mola, have you got Pocket working on kindle? I tried a while ago and failed but heard good things with Readability and kindle.

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Is it any kindle? Or just the kindle fire versions?

I was meaning the old style ones. I tried Pocket before, it loads the website on the kindle but the articles don't appear. However, using the Readability website seems to work great, according to a work colleague.

Obviously it means setting up an account (and then using) with Readability etc..

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

Will do once I have a more reliable internet connection. And a laptop. Maybe when I go to Paris in a couple of weeks. I don't have a very fancy camera, but I've taken a few good snaps.

If I have time, I am totally going to the Kali temple near Kathmandu and getting a video of me wigging out going KALI MA, KALI MA. might even be able to find a headdress somewhere.

Morning all. I've started toying around with a Kindle Fire- anyone know if an SRPG like Fire Emblem is available for it?

The only one I could find is Sword Requiem, which is apparently a bit broken on the KF.

    Have you tried Wesnoth?
It's a pretty decent TBS with unit progression and perma-death like in FE.

Thanks Alastair, I love Wesnoth, it's exactly what I'm after and I already have it on various other devices, but it doesn't seem to be available on the Kindle- am I searching under the right name, or is the Kindle games store thingy a bit limited?

I seem to remember someone saying you can sideload apps that are on the Google Play store but not the Amazon store. Think you'd need an Android phone to download it to first. Could be completely wrong :/

There's a couple of (very minor) hoops to jump through but APK Downloader works a treat. The video is pretty self-explanatory

Have to say, a colleague gave me stick for buying a Nexus and not waiting for a Fire - sure I made the right call; sounds like they've really locked it down?

I used it to download something that wasn't available in the UK store this weekend and it worked great

Based purely on reviews and specs (ie. I haven't used either), I honestly can't think of any reason to get a Fire HD over a Nexus 7.

The fire is easy to root from what I've read, but Sky Go doesn't work on rooted devices. If this side app thing works, then I'll be happy, otherwise I'll get a JB Rom put on it.

But I would have preferred a Nexus.

Yep very little reason to get a Fire HD over a Nexus 7. I don't really see the point of Amazon's gimped tablets. Though at least it sounds fairly easy to un-gimp it.

Just bought mini motor racing and its bloody good fun and it looks amazing. Reminds me of micro machines or super off road from the SNES.

    64p bargain
