Non-news really, just an empty placeholder on their page for now but it's still something. Popcap and Android.

Amazon have just unleashed their Kindle app for Android on the market. Like the Kindle hardware, the app is a bit poo but may be useful for somebody.

does anyone know if there is a decent android plane spotter app

I live underneath the heathrow flightpath (not close enough to hear them, but I can see them) and I'd love be able to see where the planes were coming from!

btw if this seems mental there is something similar for the iphone

Yeah its good, but it does drain the battery very quickly. The "striker live wallpaper" is my favourite.

Ha, that is pretty cool. I imagine it would get quite annoying after a while though. I'm sure Apple will get on interactive wallpapers in like five years. It only took them three to get static ones working!

This is good. The voice recognition works really well except when I say "blur" It nealry always gives me the result "love". Anyway apart from that, its a top app.

    Try FlightStats or FlightTracker.

My current tip is GalaxIR - a great little realtime planet based Risk-esque strategy game.

Played Barrr recently, a nice pirate themed management game of sorts - pretty limited sadly.

Going to try Nintaii (rolling block puzzler) and Mystique (3D horror puzzler) next.

Also played a bit of Zenonia - nice RPG, but to be honest I found myself thinking I could be playing Zelda instead.

I can't play games on my phone. Screen's far too small and makes for a very detached experience, imo.

Wait, Zenonia is on Android? I thought it was an iPhone game. Sweet, i'll have a look for it on the market. Thanks for the other tips Trowel, i usually avoid phone games as most of the ones i have tried have been dire.

Also try Barcode Scanner. It doesn't just get results and price comparisons for books, DVDS and films, you can scan pretty much anything and get a lot of information on the products, like reviews, price comparison or just general info.

I did a round-up of android barcode scanners back when I was a wee nipper. They've probably updated them all now, but, still, take a ganders if you're interested -

Was a lovely flash version of the same a while back, really enjoyable and would be great for a little mobile blast.

Will be getting an Android as my next phone, ditching Apple, and looking forward to trying a load of new games out.
