Thread title says it all really: What's the best steering wheel on PS3? Value for money should be factored into the answer.

If you've got some cash to burn: Logitech G27

If not: Logitech Driving Force Pro

    For 'normal' people:
    Logitech Driving Force pro (50-60)
Logitech GT25 (100-120) GT 27 is an update that replaced it

    Then for 'non-normal' people
    wot psychotext is getting ;)

Hey guys, this still considered current information? I am thinking if I am gonna buy GT5 at the end of the year it's a bit pointless not to have a steering wheel as well, so curious about what would be the best balance of cost/quality now.

Well according to this (Yamauchi playing GT5) it'd be Logitech's Driving Force GT.

All wheels mentioned above are ace. The oldest (DFP) is a bit loud but still very well built. I had the G25 for a year and it was the most well built peripheral I've ever seen, including the more expensive MOMO wheels from back in the PC days.

The DFGT is newer but almost of same build quality, less metal parts IIRC (and of course no clutch pedal and detachable "real" H-shift).

I'd recommend the G25 if you can find it cheap, it's simply amazing.

Ah thanks, that looks the business and falls into my budget :)

Guess there is likely to be bundle too if its official.

G25 is very cheap nowadays... assuming it's still in stock anywhere.

What is the best wheel for the xbox 360? I use the logitech driving force pro on the PS3, which is awesome and has the 900 degree turning which rocks!!

Is there an xbox one that has same specs??

For anyone who wants to dip their toe into the steering wheel waters, there's one from Argos (don't laugh) for 20 that I picked up today (well, yesterday, technically). I didn't want to shell out 80 or more to possibly find out I didn't like a wheel and wouldn't use it. Anyway, it's not bad actually. It's wired, but gets its power via the USB cable, so no other cable is required. The pedals can be configured to respond as either L2/R2 or Cross/Square. The paddles behind the wheel (which are always L2 and R2) are digital microswitch, which would be fine if you're using them as gear changers I expect. There's no apparent L3 or R3 buttons, though how much of a loss this will be will depend on the game, I suppose. It works just fine with Burnout Paradise, OutRun Online Arcade and NFS Hot Pursuit (which doesn't currently support the more expensive Logitech ones, though that is due soon, I gather). It has suction cups on the base of the steering wheel, so you can use it on a lap tray and not be tied to a table. No doubt there are better steering wheels out there (as some of them over over 100, they should be), and it may not suit more demanding players, but for those of us at the more casual level of commitment - and for only 20 - I'd say it's worth a go, if only as a stepping-stone to a more expensive model later once you've decided whether or not you want to go with a steering wheel at all. I'll try to post another update once I've tried some other games with it.

Damn, Argos are out of the Logitech Driving Force GT here in Hull, and we have bloody four stores as well. Just bought GT5, it's currently installing. Looks like I'll have to be patient, quite excited as I've never used a steering wheel setup at home, only ever in the arcades and in my real car of course :).
My god, that wheels like 139 on Amazon!!!! No wonder it sold out in Argos. Surely it must be a different one at amzon

Argos are sold out of the Logitech wheel where I am too, which is how I ended up with the cheaper one. I think I forgot to mention that it's a 9" wheel, whereas the others - such as the Logitech - are 13", which may factor in to people's buying decisions.

    Hands down.
Mine's 6 years old and has been through steer-y hell with years of weekly sim racing. Still all tight ship-shape. Don't think there can be a better bang-for-buck wheel out there.
