The Wire had some brilliant theme tunes (and finale montages) in it's day. Right now though, I'm loving Mad Men, Justified and Treme's theme tunes.

I'm going band of brothers season 1.

Newsroom theme by Thomas Newman also brilliant.

The Turrican/Turrican II tunes were awesome, but dunno what they've got to do with "non-gaming/tv" ;-) haha

Anyway, Star Fleet has already been mentioned so I'll throw in Battle of the Planets

Big John, Little John - Not that anyone but me seems to remember the show, catchy tune though:
Big John, Little John, what a way to grow
Big John, Little John, he grew from high to low
Also Rockliffe's Babies, again if anyone else rmembers this I will be happy, great theme tune

Don't know if the links work, limited internet access means I can't access youtube :o(

I find Big John, Little John surfacing out of my subconcious soup into song now and then - glad it's not just me :)

Oh and I used to really like

    Dick Turpin

except I've just checked it and it wasn't actually Dick Turpin I loved but

    Black Beauty!

Also let's be fair - Hawaii Five O rocks the house and for a bombastic yet wistful theme I bring you :

    The High Chaparral
