Is it wrong to go jogging around a cemetery?

    I want to start training for a half marathon, but want to avoid the roads as I will be running in the evening.

    Theres a cemetery near my student house I have just found (hello google earth) and as well as the surrouding grassy areas looks ace for a jog.

    I can see how jogging around a cemetery might be a bit offensive to some people, but its not as if i am running over graves and I will likely not be there when mourners are around.

    I doubt its a problem really, who is going to care? But I thought i would bounce the idea off some people first.

    i used to walk through a graveyard on the way to work before they cordened off the exit (bastards...), but i used to see people walking their dog and jogging through there so you certainly wouldnt be the first. i would do my best to avoid any new plots but if its a fairly old cemetry with old gravestones then i dont think it would be a problem at all.

    It does seem to be rubbing it in a bit. Hey look at me I am alive and running!!! I guess dancing around a cemetery might be worse.

    So long as you don't jog across the plots it won't be a problem.
    Sticking to the path best as can, should cause neither alarm, nor offence. Like the OP stated, they're taking the run during a quiet time, so I think they'd be all right, so long as they kept alert.

    Nah, no problem -- a cemetery makes up part of my running course. Just stay on the path out of respect, innit.
