Far Cry 3 just isn't that interesting. That's the problem. It's not a bad game, aside from the fuckawful hunting/crafting (you can't spend money because there's nothing to buy but you need more walletspace so go kill a bird).
Eh? There's loads to buy, and it's not like the game throws vast sums of money at you either.

And regarding it being repetitive, what more do you want? There's a tonne of stuff to do, and it's far more varied an experience than many other open-world games (stuff like the Saboteur springs to mind, or any of the GTA games).

On top of that it has a pretty decent (and well performed) story and some excellent (overall) presentation.

Given the state it was in at the expo and how easy it is to be either a) incompetent or b) lazy with the genre, I think it goes above and beyond in many regards.

Compared to most games it's well written and performed.

The guy who plays Vaas gives an excellent performance.

If people don't like it...move on to something else there is plenty out there. I'm really enjoying this - its not perfect (and the 10/10 was a bit too generous). 8.5/10 from me thus far.

Sound advice, but sadly advice that has been suggested countless times already and not just in this thread.

Would I like to know what an AK-47 is? No, not really. Who on earth doesn't know what an AK-47 is?
actually you should read them, as they always have a sarcastic story to them...

for example the lighthouse, he tells a story about how everyone clubbed together to pay for it, but then ships kept crashing, and it turns out it was because all the ships were piloted by French women

I just liberated a base by freeing a Tiger from it's pesky cage which then decided to eat all the Pirates! Mwa ha ha ha. But the Tiger climbs on top of a building, and when the Rakyat arrive the Tiger decides to stalk one of them.

I shoot at it with my AK-47 and the Rakyat think I'm shooting at them, call me a traitor and kill me. I was saving your lives you stupid kents! I love this game.

sadly on the 360 that just ain't the case. Xbox gaming has died on it's arse.
Oh, well, if you say there's nothing out there then it must be the case.

I guess my backlog of Autumn/Winter 2012 360 titles doesn't actually exist then.

God forbid we engage in discussion about something. That'd be awful. Are we only allowed to post positive things, or defend something against the detractors ?

As for that sarcastic story, my sides are splitting.

Looking forward to this backlog getting rubbished.

Give yourself £5 or ½ gig, you're worth it.

    Erm, what happened in here.

I'm still really enjoying this. Africa had a better atmosphere but Rook island is a better playground so far.

Money does seem more pointless the more radio towers you unscramble.

    QFT.

The story is very well acted, choreographed and altogether hangs together incredibly well.

The last time I was drawn in this much was The Walking Dead, although FC3 doesn't have the same level of emotional attachment. Having said that, I really can't wait to put a fucking arrow through that twats face....

I don't like the driving much. I think, or at least I've convinced myself, that in FC2 you could look freely around the inside of the car and that to look backwards, you clicked a stick in.

In this one, I can look left, right and up. If I want to look behind me, I can only do it by looking over my right shoulder, slowly. So what felt like being on a journey in FC2 now feels like driving in a game.

And the NPCs talk a lot. Too much. Or rather, they don't have enough to say. I can hear quotes repeated by different NPCs in the space of 10' or so. And they sound like they're doing peculiar impressions of black pirates.

And that warrants you declaring it to be complete shit and one of the worst things you've ever played does it?*

Whatever merit your issues may have, the hyperbolic way you present something with even the slightest issue as being something only marginally better than genocide isn't exactly the way to constructively share opinions.

*since last week, when you did exactly the same with Hitman, and before that with your performance in the COD thread.

Sarcasm? It's nowhere near the first time either you or ghostwhistler have had it suggested to stop playing games if you're not enjoying them.

And on the whole "only posting positive stuff" point, well done on spectacularly missing why people are getting a wee bit tired of all the one note relentless criticism you are bringing into every thread about every game you've played recently.

Pft, couple of shotgun rounds to the face and they soon crumple to your manly tarzan-esque dominance of the jungle.

Oh, and pack of dogs or dingos? Flamethrower is your best mate there.

My current gun setup is an automatic, a sniper rifle, a shotgun and an explosive launcher. Between them, grenades and up-front stealth I find I'm pretty covered for all eventualities and requirements.
