I've read Kick Ass 2 and it's a bit extreme. That is an understatement. Going to have to be an 18 for sure.

    But what do I know.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

Kick Ass 2 is ridiculous. They are going to have to change quite a lot to make it worth watching.

Well to be honest, they changed some massive plot point for the first anyway.

The film was infinitely better than the comic.

    Get bent.

I've got Kick Ass 2 (the comic). Hit Girl is hardly in it for starters so that's going to have to change.

But it just seems to exist to try to shock. There's rape and a lot of murder in it and that's just for starters. Any kind of humour is just non-existent.

Not a great story either in all honesty. Some major changes needed methinks. Not watched the trailer yet though.

The Resident Evil films. I'm one of the reasons they keep making them.

I'll wait and see. They made an average comic into a decent movie for the first one. No reason they can't do it again. Slightly concerned that Matthew Vaughn has basically nothing to do with is this time, and Jane Goldman definitely has nothing to do with it. They're a good team and I think Goldman in particular is what made the first one work.

The problem is they are no longer working with an average comic. They are working with one that is utter shite.

So Jeff Wadlow (writer/director) has only done one other film, and it's supposed to be an absolute turd, so that's good.

Hope those special effects aren't final, that final bit with Hit Girl on the truck looks very shonky and mid-90's.

Well at least it won't be half as creepy when fans say they would fuck her last time.

I didn't think they were following the 2nd comic?

Mark Millar only agreed for them to adapt the comics into films if they stuck with his story, that was why they found it so hard to make the original Kick-Ass, no studio wanted to touch the screenplay to begin with unless it could be changed.

The bit with Hit Girl on the van reminded me a lot of the bit with the agent jumping on the front of the car in the trailer for the second Matrix movie. It just looked shit and unfinished. They'd tidied it up for the finished movie, but it still looked shoddy.

    3/5 from Empire

    http://www.empireonline.com/reviews/reviewcomplete.asp?FID=138021

    Verdict
A more modest success than the first Kick-Ass, but still of-a-piece with its scurrilous predecessor. Nobody flies a jet-pack up a skyscraper this time, but Kick-Ass 2 still has its share of over-the-top action, and the sweary laughs are just about intact.

I still cant quite work out how they managed to get a 15 certificate.

One of the main characters is called 'The MotherFucker', ffs. All they have to do is mention his name like half a dozen times and its already an 18.

God knows but then a few films have got low ratings in recent years that have had people scratching their heads.

I thought language wasn't enough to get a film bumped up to an 18?

Probably been relaxed a bit. I watched Aliens again the other day and 90% of the violence is off screen, so must have been the swearing back then, but can't see it getting an 18 these days.

Threat of violence/implied can still get you an 18 if it's intense and sustained enough.

Also, language can get you an 18 by itself. I believe the language has to be strongly sexualised though. (So, I think, excessive use of the C-word would be enough).

From what a gather strong language would need to be used aggressively/threateningly to push a film to an 18, hence The World's End got away with saying "cunt" three times because it wasn't used aggressively.

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.
