Sadly I think there's 0% chance of them fixing the things that bugged me about the first ( too many 'booh!' moments, stasis making things a little too easy, tons of ammo, etc. )

I'll say it now to get it out of my system...

With regard to "multiplayer" people are assuming a lot.

Dead Space Downfall was an action packed anime.
Dead Space was a tense, violent third person action/horror shooter
Dead Space Extraction was a cinematic rail shooter

We can't assume we know what Dead Space 2 will be. There's a good chance it'll be something different to the last game. Something where a multiplayer element will make sense.

Considering the number of main characters in Dead Space Extraction I would expect Coop here.

Or maybe it'll be versus or something weird.

Anyway, the first game was so fucking brilliant. Give me more Dead Space. I love the mythology.

Sounds really promising as I loved the first. Fighting a giant sphincter on a giant spce-station ftw.

I was too much of a wuzz to complete the first one, but this sounds awesome! I'll probably have to pick it up, even if I'll be too much of a wuzz to finish this one too.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the original, some of the changes proposed for the sequel fix a lot of the things I disliked though.

Especially regarding enemy behaviour, it really wasn't very interesting in the first game.

    Wow, that sounds absolutely fantastic.

Is anyone else getting a bit bored with remastered games? Read my thoughts!

Hmmm would have preferred Isaac to remain without a voice but it does sound like Visceral are going all-out for the sequel, which can only be applauded!

Issac sports some shocking new weapons in Dead Space 2.

Visceral told Game Informer a fair bit about what a sequel means for them, and the series. Good info to be found here.

The CEO of EA said Dead Space was his favourite game. I'd imagine he has a preference of quality staff for it's sequel :p

A 3D screenshot of a scene from the game is available to view, at Game Informer's page. A sure-fire way to see how the game's going, so far.

The only worry I have about the game is the recent comments made by the team, imply more emphasis on action and possibly a more open environment. It's surprising how many games that've come out recently that are 3rd person, sandbox action titles and I really hope Dead Space doesn't turn into another one.

The first game was a very well done refresh of the old survival horror genre, regardless of some of the actiony bits. It was great to sort of relive the nostalgia without the need for rose tinted glasses. I'd love them to head almost completely in that direction. Resi 2 is still awesome.

Yeah, the interview in Game Informer made it sound like they're heading away from made Dead Space stand out from the pack, which is sad.

Good or bad news coming from Visceral games, depending largely on how you look at it. The sequel will be more about action horror, less about survival horror. He compares the intensity of the set pieces to that of Call of Duty or Uncharted.

Even if the next game comes out with a U rating and has Disney characters in it, I've just got to buy it.

Dead Space is one of the few games, in my opinion, where Eurogamer got the score straight wrong. This should easily have been a 9. The other recent error was to award Batman only 9.
