Good point, well made Deck. The first one was GOTY for me.

Well hear I am and...Deckard you are completely right about this. I'm actually bored now, on Chapter 10. The first half was brilliant, but these last chapters are just by the numbers shootathons.

Repeating bits in the Ishimura could have been good fun, but it's just dull.

DS2 only comes into its own in Hard Core mode. It's pure brilliance then, start to finish.

    WE TOLD YOU SO!

The last couple of chapters made the game go from a nine out of ten to a seven/eight out of ten...

I genuinely hope that Dead Space 3 is inspired by the original more than the on-the-action-side sequel.

Yes, I agree... only if you have four or five hours to spare at a time (!)

Has anyone tried clogging up vents with kinesisable items to maybe physics glitch the dudes inside and they just get stuck?

I'm trying it now but not managed to have anything pop out of a vent i'vv filled with a bucket and a stepladder.

BTW are you by any chance in the circular room filled with bodies and the 3-level gallery afterward? That place really forced me to come up with newtactics.

I've somehow just got 'The Librarian' achievement, and I'm sure I've collected maybe 20 logs.
  • Deleted user 23 January 2012 20:22:36
Just got fucking whalloped by one of those stalker things that run at you screaming, I love those things.
  • Deleted user 23 January 2012 22:47:05
    Is it any good yet?
    /prances off

It's been good the whole time, they are good games!

    \pokes red in the eye

It's picked up now near the end, even if the new 'can't be killed' dude isn't half as scary as the one from DS1.
  • Deleted user 24 January 2012 21:48:30
\o/ at the joke right at the end, little nod to the original.

I'd give the original a 9, this an 8 I think. Doesn't quite have the same magic, but still a fantastic game in its own right.

    Good stuff.

Hard-core mode sounds insane! 3 saves?!

The new game+ is well fun if you've upgraded any guns proper. Keep putting nodes into the javelin and it becomes explosive!

Isn't game+ only on the already completed difficulty? And, as such, is rather pointless? ;-)

    @Lexx
Zealot won't really prepare you for Hard Core. Except for tougher monsters and scarcer ammo. But you really, really need to think different there.

I don't think so. Its been a while but am sure you could change difficulty aswell! I don't remember doing 2 normal runs.

Yeah just looked that up, don't know what you were thinking there ;-)

Does this mean you didn't see any super upgraded guns?
  • Deleted user 25 January 2012 19:14:07
No new game+ lets you start on an increased difficulty.

Hm, maybe it's only Hard Core that's excluded from this, then. I guess you're right. Otherwise, it would be pretty hard fully upgrading four weapons at once.

The charged up beam weapon absolutely decimates everything whan it's done up a bit.
