Gave up on Civ Rev after a couple of games on the second difficulty. I have no desire to waste hours and hours of my life having my arse handed to me by a computer and I had fun with it while it lasted!

Tropico was never the sort of game where there's much of a competitive element though, which is why it's on my list :)

Well. Owen. You want it. You'll keep wanting it and end up getting it anyway. So just get it.
I think I'll leave it for now. Nice to have something to look forward to. I'll keep telling myself I'll get it once I've finished the story in Batman, and then I'll never finish the story in Batman because I can't be bothered having to learn how to play it again, and remembering what I was supposed to be doing when I turned it off last...

    ;)

Just get a Lovefilm account then. I'm paying 9 a month for four games a month, including Batman and now i'll get Tropico. Works out much cheaper.

That's about as long as I lasted with Civ Rev - it really wasn't what I was after, this is definitely more along the lines of what I was thinking.

There is a competitive element, in that if you choose to be democratic, you have to win the election, but so far I've been a complete bastard to my poor serfs and then won them over at the last minute with some timely rhetoric and the odd tax cut at election time. Of course, I could've just told them to stuff their election... argh... I want a go on this now. :)

Hmm I gave up on them ages ago for films and never considered them for games. 9 a month and you're allowed 4 discs in a month. That's not bad given the lethargic pace at which i play games (got Batman on day 1, still haven't finished it).

Yup, two at a time 4 a month. Saved a fortune doing that!

As long as it hasn't just been released i've never had a problem in getting them either.

I doubt Tropico is in huge demand though :p

Anyone tried this on a 360? It's 25 new in Game, which both excites me and gives me a bad feeling.

    What!? Good spot.

Probably but not everyone has a gaming PC. Or even a PC.

Just remembered I've got about a tenner left on a Game voucher/card thing so I could get it for about £15..

Yes, because if you're looking to buy a game like Tropico 3, L4D2 is going to push all the right buttons for you isn't it? O_o

I didn't say that, I'd just pick L4D2 over Tropico 3 if I were him.

    I'm buying both.

    *blows raspberry*

Seriously though, Tropico 3 is very good... it's a shame to see a great game series not getting the sales it deserves. Craps all over every other builder sim.

They're great... not so great when you realise there's only about 4 songs on the soundtrack and thus they keep repeating.

And don't get me started on the DJ...

Well, it was definitely £24.99 in Game at the weekend. Now it's £39.99, so I laughed and walked out. Shame because I'd have got it for that but even £30 online is too much for me. Think I'll try the demo in Boot Camp.

As for L4D2, no chance. Played the original on two occasions and never touched it again. Requires faaar too much investment of time practicing to make it worth playing onli

Yep, it's 39.99 in store now, so I'll just wait for it to hit the bargain bins and pick it up then.

Speaking of logging -> furniture, are there any plans to make a new Caesar game? Caesar III was the nuts. Dunno if IV was any good, if there was one...

I've not played any of the previous Tropico games, but the demo has just convinced me to buy this from Steam. I love the concept behind it and I've uncovered just enough of the workings to create some semi-sustainable towns.

It seems ace - and runs perfectly nicely on a C2D iMac, which is nice to know for any Bootcampers out there.
