Dirty console peasents are still stuck with sub 720p resolutions or wonky framerate in many games, while the glorious PC gaming master race is about to enjoy games in up to 7860x3200 with a single graphics card.

    :D

All that's left to do is LCD manufacturers making the bezel slimmer.

What is he playing? Bloody warcraft! Cool tech though. Since I got dual screens I have found single screen computing quite constricted, so this would be a great upgrade.

That looks like crap for gaming. Who wants the display broken up by big black lines when playing a game?

It just needs an appropriately sized screen.

Could this not be hooked up to multiple projectors for awesome, eye-ruining goodness?

Spot the person who's never used more than one screen.

ecu, you do realize that the console dominating the last few years of gaming runs on two screens, right?

    I'm running 3x 24" screens, 5040x1050

The bezels don't annoy you as much as you'd think, you're not looking directly at the side screens, they're peripheral vision. You can set up bezel management in software so you don't "jump" from one screen to another, some image is essentially behind the bezel so the transition is smoother.

I've been running it for a while now. Earlier in the year I thought I'd try out 1 screen again, and I felt constricted, like I was stuck in a box. Plus, it's just fantastic for desktop use too.

at work i actually have FOUR 17" lcds, no joke. I find it hard to do any work at other offices with only a paltry one or two screens! lol.

At home i've got a 24" lcd, and an old 19" square CRT. Rather than gaming on both, i use my second screen to surf EG / thottbott / iplayer / sopcast on the small screen, whilst i play games on my larger one.

cannot see me ever going back to a single screen!

Whereas the last bit of this vid with 6 HD projectors looks great!

    Not too practical though.

Demonstrated here. Thinner bezels are still a bit of the missing puzzle piece.

    That's 1 projector, not 6.

Pretty nice, wouldn't mind that on my wall.

The guy playing it is dog shit mind, he can't even aim the pistol low enough to shoot. But aren't the people playing tech demos always rank?

It's awesome for flight sims and racing games. Especially when you have it all with wheels/rudders/sticks etc and you feel all cockpitty/driver seaty.

A bit bollocks for anything else gaming wise though.

i'm a huge fan of multi screen computing but multi screen gaming isn't really all that great, the only game that did it with conviction is supreme commander here

until they figure out to make it seamless, no dice.

infact WoW and all the valve games are multi monitor friendly too :) windowed mode is king.

i dont see the point tbh, all the videos linked in this thread look like a massive tv split up with black bars... who wants that?. the projector stuff looks more promising.. but if there going for an effect to make you feel more like your there pretty much all the screens to the left and right need to be peripherial vision, eg, in the left for dead video his gun needs to be much smaller and on the center screen, rather than so far over to the right that he cant see it.

For gaming, it's pretty shite. A 50 inch TV > 3 monitors. I mean surely that's what putting 3 monitors together is actually trying to achieve, right? It pretty much makes it a big TV.

    Get bent.

It's like splitting my TV into 6ths with black tape for fuck sake. (referring to deems WoW link there). It looked awful, who the hell would want that? I see the practicality for applications, it is handy, I have had a dual screen configuration before, but for gaming, it's just not very good.

And once they sort the bezel issue out... you end up with a big TV. Wow.

    Get bent.

I think it's more about giving you the peripheral vision.

Plus obviously the resolution is greater than 1 large monitor.

Yeah I understand that, but it's still very very flawed. The OP seems to think that it's the second coming or something. A big, high resolution monitor would be a lot better. The bezel issue is the deal breaker at the moment.

People seem too ready to defend something heh. It's only the multi screen technology I have no interest in, PC gaming is still t3h w1ns, or whatever you crazy cats say nowadays.

    Get bent.

    ?

I don't think anyone has been rabidly defending anything, it's the first I've seen of it and I don't really do PC gaming. I was just answering your question really.
