    Hi -

I'm hunting around for a few GBA games to add to my collection, and it appears some of them are becoming quite had to track down. Which made me think: do any of you know what GBA games are "officially" being considered rare by now?

I dunno. I have loads of the things, but my youngest son is getting good at losing them.

Gradius advance? I have that puppy. How about activision anthology? Got that too.

    FCUTA!

I guess that proves it's rare then :)

Never seen any of the King of Fighters GBA games either and I think I've only seen Metal Slug Advance once in my life.

I almost had it once, not long after release. I took it to the till and they'd lost the cart though. It was also the only copy they had. Never saw it anywhere again after that.

I've got one of the 33% brighter GBA SPs. Try and track one of those bastards down!

Give yourself 5 or gig, you're worth it.

That's a shame. It's a really cool version of Metal Slug as well.
    I'm rubbish at it though.

Massive shame. I'd been looking forward to it too after watching the trailers on some Nintendo DVD thing free with a magazine.

The back-lit as opposed to front-lit models? Always been tempted to find one but you'd never know by looking at it which type it was would you?

Also, don't know if any of the Street Fighter GBA games or Final Fight One are rare.

Apparently Ninja Cop is very good, and pretty rare, too.

I've got one 33% brighter screen SP that I use regularly, and another two boxed ones, that I bought as back-up. They are really, really expensive on eBay now :-/

I think FFVI is kind of rare though; it goes for quite a bit of dollar on Play/Amazon. Not checked eBay.

Yep, I had to pay 35 for a sealed (European) copy earlier this year from an overseas seller. Worth every penny (got many, many hours out of the game) though and certainly not a common game.

The thing with GBA games is that it's hard to tell what's rare and what's not when a lot of the stuff on ebay is pirated.

    :-D

Some GBA games had such low print runs that even the pirate versions end up being pretty desirable. Like most of the Atlus releases such as Tactics Ogre for instance.

I think I paid about 20 for FFVI when it first came out. Wouldn't part with it for five times that :D

That reminds me, Gradius Galaxies, It was going for 15 in GAME about five years ago. I'll think about it, pick it up tomorrow maybe...

It wasn't there the next day. That was the first and last copy I ever saw. :-(

    How about...
    Konami Krazy Racers?
    Lady Sia?
    The Ecks Vs Sever games?
    Doom/Doom 2 Advance?
    Duke Nukem Advance ?
    Broken Sword?
    Wolfenstein?

All games that I'd be interested in playing if they ever appeared anywhere.

Ecks vs Sever and Doom series aren't that rare. Personally I'm amazed there was SC5 and JSR! Never heard that before.

As we are talking about SEGA again, Chu Chu Rocket! Could also be rare.

V.Rare Jap puzzle game - Guru Logic Champ

Managed to get an unboxed one off ebay a few years ago after waiting for years for one to come up

Bizzarely a copy of Space Invaders for the Virtual Boy goes for thousands !!
Cheaper to buy an original arcade cab i'd guess
Water World also commands a fair premium for the VB depite it being rather poor

JSR i think was done by the team that did early Tony Hawks games on the GBA as it certainly uses a similar engine with a "zaxxon-esque" viewpoint

    Argh. Bought it.
