I pray EA are pulling their fingers out and getting on with Road Rash for PS3. I've not heard any news for nearly a year.

Road Rash 2 was one of the best Megadrive games ever made. Where the hell is its PS3 version?

I'm not sure they ever said it was coming... other than saying they were going to work on some old franchises.

Somebody from Skid Row apparently leaked it. Not the most solid of sources, but I'll cling to it. :)

I'm guessing he was asked to provide music for it.

Just get an emulator and RR2. You know 3 won't be as good...

I'm not entirely sure it would work these days. Everytime there is game that involves driving down long endless roads or travelling for ages, people bitch about it like mad.

Driving down roads that seemed to go on forever and passing through countless tiny little towns in the blink of an eye was a big part of RR's appeal.

Exactly, they will fuck it up with some underground street shit, sections where you get off the bike, stunts or some other crap.

There is a mint condition RR2 SMD copy sitting on my desk next to me RIGHT NOW. True story. -_-

I was probably the only person in the world who hated Road Rash.

Forgot about Skitchin', that was weirdly awesome!

    Wasn't there a 3d N64 version of Road Rash?

Seem to remember that as being quite good.

There was, and it really, really wasn't.

Jailbreak on PS1 is okay, but like the other 3D versions, failed to capture the spirit of the Megadrive games. At least that's how I remember it. I don't hold out much hope that a new Road Rash would be any better.

I actually played this on bicycles as a kid. Stopped when I got kicked off and almost run over. Man that was clever.

any read the novel from Sega Power? Getting the chain for the first time in 2 was awesome. Sense of speed on the Wild Thing was intense too.

I don't remember it being bad, at all.

But most of all, this prompts me to ask: Where did Deep Silver's Ride to Hell get to? :(
There really should (AT LEAST) be a HD downloadable Road Rash developed. I'd really like to see that. It's classic arcade fare at its core, and I think there is a great deal of flexibility in terms of how it could work, and be presented.

Very surreal, my thought process whilst reading that:

    Wut? I said that?

    I don't remember saying that!

That's not my opinion at all!!!

    Why would I say that?!?!?!?!

    Oh.

Oops didn't mean 3. Just had that in my head after reading PS3 in title.

They're still the only 'racing' games that I've played for more than a few hours.

Working your way up to the fastest bike was/is great fun.

To this day I find myself humming the tunes to myself when cycling to work - although I try to keep punching and kicking of fellow cyclists a minimum.

Agreed. It was great in the day, but like so many retro franchises a 3D remake would most likely end in Bomberman-style disaster.

They could make a really decent Road Rash game with modern technology but I really don't think they'd get what made it so good.

Burnout paradise bikes with melee attacks and ragdolling corpses would probably do it

Featuring lots of worldwide locations and big jumps of course

Can't you punch left and right when you're on the bike in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift? I mean it's no RR, but it's yet another reason to play PR.

RR never seemed that fast. Especially during fights. Mainly because of the straight-ish roads.
I wonder how that would work with modern graphics engines.

I was just about to post that... lol

Looks nice even as a pre-viz.

Shame it got canned, maybe EA will see sense one day and finish it.
