I'm having a problem with my laptop: The first night I spent in my new place it found the wireless network and connected to the internet fine, but since then it can't find it at all, yet finds a dozen others belonging to my neighbours.
Initially I presumed the router had fallen over, but I can find it perfectly on my phone and it connects as it should. Any ideas why this should be? Phone and laptop both in the same room, and also my phone doesn't find half the networks my laptop does so I don't think it's a signal strength problem.
I'm confuzzled to say the least.
Can the laptop connect when its plugged directly into the router?
In all honesty, I'm yet to find the router! I've just moved into the place and never seem to bump into any of the other people that live there!
Ah, shared network?
Are any of the other networks, that your laptop can see, unsecured? If so, can you connect to them with the laptop?
Edit: I have seen Windows laptops (specifically Acer ones) not be able to see access Points that other devices could, but that was because the Access Point was working on a channel that the card didnt recognize (Greater than channel 11, I believe), but it seems unlikely that you could see it one day and not the next.
