Their first UK gig of the tour.
  • Deleted user 2 October 2012 23:27:56
Is it a bit weird that they're touring so long after King of Limbs came out?

Are we due another album release? KoL came out last February didn't it?

They have been touring for most of the year already, for some reason they decided to save the UK dates until very late in the tour this time around. Bear in mind they don't have a record label telling them when and where to tour, so nothing weird for Radiohead really.

    Monday 8th, can't wait.

Hope there's a backing orchestra involved; the stuff on the latest Basement DVD is really incredible with the brass and strings.

    Unlucky Morriss :(

Such an awesome set (though why they play TKOL in its entirety except Codex which is the best song baffles and infuriates me). Bloom makes so much more sense live. Give Up The Ghost and HTDC were jawdroppingly beautiful, Pyramid Song was amazing, Myxamatosis was an explosion of green and noise and YAWA left me numb. Nude and Reckoner made me shiver, a lot. HTDC was actually the first time a song at a gig has reduced me to tears, it was that good.

I'm going to see them tomorrow!

It'll be the first gig i've been to where I'll be seated, I like jumping around. :(

Oh no, I'm seeing them in a couple of weeks and I thought TKOL was a really boring album. This does not bode well...

Do they do much earlier stuff or have they completely phased out The Bends?

All the eurogamers who actually play with each other on xbl rather than just post pseudointellectual pc handwringing bollocks on the forums, love the shit out of biggy.

Very little early stuff. Airbag, Paranoid Android and Planet Telex were all they played from the first three albums.

I thought the set was awesome. TKOL material mixing in really well.
    Yeah, Myxamatosis, always good.
Thom Yorke is an amazing frontman.
I had a great view, felt very intimate.

Why would any progressive band dwell on material they wrote 15-20 years ago.
    It's encore fodder at best.

They just need to play Idioteque live to make me a very happy man indeed. I love how they seem to continually improve that song live with just minor little tweaks.

I fucking love How To Disappear Completely. They didn't play it on the In Rainbows tour sadly.

Glad you enjoyed it, they're awesome live.

I really want to see Bloom live. It is fucking gorgeous on FTB. The studio versions of KoL aren't the best: it is clear all the songs are full of potential for live additions.

If they play HTDC tomorrow I will probably have a little cry.

Yeah Bloom was majestic, despite having no flugelhorns.
Feral & Good Morning Mr Magpie were stunning also.
I won't spoil it, but a great opener as well.

Text from mate: "shit, just got a reminder from O2 that its Radiohead tomorrow!"

No idea how all three of us thought it was two weeks tomorrow.

Have plans for tomorrow. After missing them in Berlin because of the cancellation, no chance I'm missing them twice though so will be cancelling THOSE plans!

Home! Fucing amazing, can't believe they played Kid A and spinning plates.

It was immense, feeling pissed....those £5.20 glasses of rosŤ did me in. -_-

    Bed time.

    @Ka-blamo

    Spinning Plates!!!!

Was it synth or the keyboard/piano version? Personally I prefer the liver version on I Might Be Wrong, something about the looping piano melody is emotionally transcendent...

Either way I'm exceedingly jealous (though I'm not a fan of the O2 as a venue)

    :o

15 Step, Karma Police, Climbing Up The Walls were absent from Manc. Gutted.

I thought There There was the low point at Manc. It was still great, but I was so excited when it started and didn't quite deliver. Those gorgeous high harmony lines that Thom sings in the last few lines he didn't bother with, just sang the same as the rest of the song. The way it builds up to that is what makes the song for me and it didn't come.

    @evild_edd

It was just Thom and a piano, it was spiritual.

Jesse Pinkman and James Bond were there too 0_0

His tweets say he was almost chucked out for dancing? :/

Dunno what he was on about, I was seated and there were people dancing.

Perhaps he was dancing like a twat? Never heard of Aaron Paul BTW - had to google him to find out he's from Breaking Bad. Which I've never watched. Meh.

Opps, forgot I'm not in the breaking bad thread :)

There was a pub/restaurant in the O2 that had special radiohead cocktails on the menu, Coke babies, pop is dead, kinetic, optimistic and little by little.

I took one of the menus with them on, rare memorabilia! :)
