So is this the oft rumoured Persona game that was due ? Thought a spruced up version of the original had already been announced for the PSP ?

Not that I'm complaning, it'll be good to finally see what all the cultish-hype/critical acclaim has been about.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 contains Infrastructure?

    AWESOME!

Not as awesome as this though. What a surprise!

Full scans, a picture of Elizabeth's male version and various other tidbits

Note: see the comments for the actual male version of Elizabeth.

It's a bit early for a port/remake, isn't it? Even Square-Enix leave it longer than this.

Amazing game, but not really interested.

    They've changed the graphics!

Not entirely sure why though, there was nothing there the PSP couldn't do in the first place. Colour me confused.

The new graphics are nice too though. But yeah, more work for them.

Saving on space probably. Remember that UMDs have just over half the space of what Persona 3 FES had :p. So sacrifices have to be made somewhere. You can't cut the story, the music is needed for atmosphere, you're adding more scenarios, you just can't keep up the graphics and expect to squeeze a DVD into a UMD :p.

It looks nice enough to me but I'll wait for a video :p.

Persona 3 isn't really asset heavy, I'd doubt it even filled a single layer. It's just bizarre and I'm not sure I like it.

You don't seem to travel either, it's point and clicky in the world.

OOOoofafabf not sure about this any more. World crumbling.

I was just expecting exactly the same as the PS2 version, maybe with less VO and an upgraded battle system. Now, well, I don't know what the believe.

Persona 3 to me is the best JRPG i've ever played. Better than Tales of Symphonia, better than Final Fantasy 7, better than even Chrono Trigger. Change in this formula is alarming to my fragile brain.

Clips here. They showed the battle but ironically, not the actual moving of the blooming characters! Looks like a quick save feature is thrown in as well but can't confirm...

Just nipping onto a local AHEM site, Persona 4 takes up 2.36GB rar'd... which is a good 700mb over the space you get on UMD. I think the largest UMD I've seen is 1.6GB

    Damn.

I'm sitting on the fence at the moment with this one. Could be awesome but it depends on just how much is taken out to make the game workable on PSP.

How much of that is padding though, or they could have been very lenient with compression because of it's smaller size. If they tried, they could get it to 1.6 gig

Male version of Elizabeth is enough of a reason not to play "Girl's Side" of the story.

The fact that I still haven't played P3 should be enough to make me get this. And then probably not play it.

I'm quite pleased about this since I never had a chance to play it on the PS2. Shame it'll probably take about 16 years to get released outside of Japan.

The music in P3 is second to none really, the OST's produced for it are a joy to listen to.

Not a bad intro at all, but yes, Burn My Dread will always be the defining Persona 3 song for me. It's even my ringtone. On that subject, is Mass Destruction not the battle song anymore, or is it different only for the female protaganist?

Again, as with Valve, fans start to complain that a respected games company is whoring themselves out on sequels/remakes. How can anyone blast the story for a female MC if nobody knows what it will involve? Any added content to P3's world is win-win in my book.

Hah, that is awesome. It's like J-pop fused with the intro to a James Bond film. :D

If they tell me that we also have skill descriptions (as in P4), I will start hoping for a UK release...

Interestingly, clicking on the main characters on the front page produces small snippets of the battle music. The male version is "as you were". The female version? Different...
