More Idea Factory games! I never thought the first one would get localised, nevermind a further two.

Are the games actually working out? I don't see them selling much in the UK but across Europe perhaps France for instance, JRPGs and SRPGs still seem to do pretty well there.

Looking at some of the promotional information this game actually sounds very dark in places. It makes it sound like the hero pretty much rapes his chosen partner rather than marrying her if the relationship is poor. Is that true? It's rather off-putting if it is. :(

The game gives you the option of choosing the girls who would not have liked you enough in the previous games. If you choose to go down that root then the girl agrees to become your partner but they show various levels of enthusiasm. You'll get a cut scene where you see them agree to the relationship and while the image is slightly sinister it doesn't go into too much detail beyond that. This struck me as the mystical equivalent of an arranged political marriage.

This issue can be skirted around by making sure you pick the girls who like you more but it is present.

Ah okay, thanks for clearing that up. I guess the things people were saying were a little misleading (sounded like the girls were getting tied up and forced to have his kid or something!). Political marriage I can live with although obviously I'll be aiming to win over the girls. :)

There's usually at least one girl you win over I've found. It's more an issue when you're aiming for a specific class next generation as the girl you pick decides which class you'll be. As for the tying up thing that's a reference to the rather sinister image I mentioned when this happens in which some black mystical tendrils cover the girl. The text from my experience tends towards making it clear the girl is not keen on this but agrees that it is necessary.
