    As long as it doesn't have predators in it I'll be happy.

    Humans vs aliens= good scary film. Predators take away the fear factor, as they show it's possible to take them down hand to hand. And then start teaching humans. Grr.

    Anyway, this sounds like a return to the concept of the first film, so it's all good.

    The only good part of Requiem was the glimps of the Predator's planet at the start.

    I remember someone in the Alien quadrilogy saying that the prequel should finish with the ship from Alien touching down on the surface of LV whatever it is. And thus the circle is complete.

    hmmm not sure tbh every prequel ever made has been shite and not one of them has matched the original!

    They only make these now cos they have run out of ideas or in this case fucked the story of the sequels up so much.

    It won't be better than the original, but I'm still hopeful. Hollywood seems to have got their act together so far as reboots go, and although this isn't a reboot, I still see it as an acknowledgement that they've really fucked about a once great franchise. They're making all the right moves to get this done properly, so I think it'll be decent.

    The only way it can be made good is if they talk and base it around the mothership from the 1st film and who were the other aliens transporting them! But they wont it will be another hollywood quick $$$$$ type of film.

    I do not expect good things from this. Alien was a good starting point and part of that was simply because it was all totally WTF NEW. What can they do with the Alien that it already did in the first? It would be dumb to make it do what it did in Aliens because it already did that in Aliens. Get me?

    Two words. SPACE JOCKEY.

    It's a bigger picture thing. I want a backstory thats actually canon and I think Scott is the only person with the right to offer it to us.

    I trust Scott to do something amazing with the story to compliment the original and round off the only real part of the series (alien and aliens). Which is what we (or some of us anyway) need, something to wipe clean the excrement continously slathered on the series over the years.

    Going by Scott's more recent work at least one of the movies will star Russel Crowe and have swords in it.

    How are they gonna make these good?
    1) No badass marines (with one left by the end).
    2) No pretty boy/girl actors
    3) 2 1/2 hours long - each (if there are two prequels).
    4) Really emence back story

    I wish they would make more new sci-fi, even though I love the alien cannon.

    TBH, I think you are better of enjoying these films as individual things rather than trying to figure out what is considered 'real' or not. I love Aliens (probably a lot more than Alien if I'm honest) but it's not a particularly good sequel to Alien...and the less said about the others the better. I'd prefer if he concentrated on making a sequel to HIS film rather than worrying too much about trying to be consistent with any of the other stuff.

    I was kinda hoping he'd leave us guessing / making up our own back stories for the Space Jockey. It's one of those magical moments in cinema history that I just love to speculate about without actually ever knowing what it truly is.
