    Much appreciated :)

Hollywood. I'm pretty sure they'd find some shite way of shoehorning her in there somewhere.
Yeah, exactly, that's what I'm saying.

This is about the prequels, someone wondered if that meant Ripley wouldn't be in it and you said, "Of course, she died in the last one." - implying that because she'd died in the last one, she wouldn't be in this one, apparently missing the fact we're talking prequels and her status in the last film means nothing.

    Have you been drinking?
No, it's just the hollywood way, if they can't get the original character in they'll probably throw a distant relative, maybe her gran or something.
    o_O

One of us is completely failing to understand what the other is saying, and I'm not sure which is which any more.

You're both wrong, okay? One of you thinks that she can't be in it cause she died after this film is set (despite the other meaning it as a joke about the ridiculousness of no 4) and the other thinks that she can't be in it because she's too old in real life. Which she is. So. Er. Yeah.

Some quality Crispy work in this thread.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realise half of them are stupider than that

I wouldn't get too excited about this to be honest. Ridley Scott has about 5 or 6 films on the go at any one time, he likes to surround himself with projects and dip into them all from time to time gradually pushing them further and further along his production line until one of them feels ready to be made.

It's a process he has done for the past few years now and it means he announces exciting stuff quite often, but then never actually takes it any further for ages.

A lot of people believe it's why the vast majority of his work is now shit compared to his glory days... and Gladitor.

I worry that Crispy is being too subtle.

Anyway, they should have got Duncan Jones or someone to direct this, Ridley Scott's been making dross like American Gangster, A Good Year and Kingdom of Heaven, not sure why people think he'll be able to slip back into the director he was 25 years ago...

I like all 4 of them. there is no 5th Aliens film

    /waves hand, jedi-stylee
(quicker and safer than a lobotomy)

    prequel eh?

The film is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film that Scott directed. It will precede that film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship returning to Earth is awakened and sent to respond to a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them.

hmmmmm. Maybe. As long as Scott doesn't manage to shoehorn his fuckbuddy Crowe in there somewhere, I'm game.

A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

The fact this is being directed by Scott does give me some hope it will be better than most of the dross created to cash-in on a trademark. Certainly can't be worse than Alien VS Predator VS Dawson's Creek.

    Alien vs Dawson's Creek?!

That'd be good. Short, but good...and satisfying.

Sounds like a Mars bar advert. :o

Uncalled for violence. How about..., how about I pull some strings and put you in Big Brother. Then you'll be sorry.

No, then my masterplan will swing into action. And the world will be sorry...

    I've said too much.

What could possibly go wrong. All the shouting and drunken, booze-fuelled arguments... Not sure I'd notice the difference! :-)

As long as Paul W.S. Anderson is kept a million miles away, and they don't shoehorn in Ripley, then this could be good.

Actually, I'd pay to see Alien Vs. Anderson. Shortest, most satisfying movie ever.
