New trailer tonight in the first ad break of Homeland on C4, from 9pm. Some live Twitter reaction bollocks then follows.

I’m looking forward to this, but.. I checked out some preview images in a paper magazine, and the alien type backdrops look CG. Unlike the original Alien, where they actually built the backdrops, as crazy as that sounds.

No way??? Have you considered starting a petition to boycott the film?!

I take it this has been filmed using 3D cameras? I saw the trailer in 3D before The Avengers and it looked okay.

IMAX is the only way to go on this. I can say that though as there's one in Manchester and it's actually showing it.

Yup, 3D <spit!> all the way.

Thankfully it will of course also be screened in 2D (if you can find it among all the greedy cinemas that will ONLY show it in 3D <spit!> ).

Well that was pretty bloody exciting. Very glad to know it's a June 1st release, means I should be able to go before I have to give up the cinema for a while.

    It's not on C4+1 btw.

I think that trailer indicates that we're at the point where anyone who wants a surprise should stop watching any more Prometheus stuff.

Marketing people will ruin it from here on in.

That's it for me, not looking at anything else Prometheusy until I watch the film. I'll have forgotten the trailer by that point.

Playing all the right notes— but not necessarily in the right order.

I'm with you on that - didn't realise were were going to see the first glimpse. I'll put a potential spoiler warning against that link before the morning crew wade in blindly.

Way too much stuff in the latest trailer - if you haven't seen it, I suggest you don't and wait for the film. Honestly.

Edit - wish I'd checked in here first, just clicked a bloody Twitter link

Saw the trailer last night, am probably going to give this one a miss for sure. Nothing about it looks right (too much CG) and if the trailer's suggestion that it's nothing more than a retreading of ALIEN is right then I'm not willing to pay the £6 to see that story yet again

Felt like that trailer gave away too much of the film.

Maybe it's deliberate and there's some misdirection going on? I'm not watching ti to find out though.

Why would you want to watch this on IMAX? It's not been filmed in IMAX format :-/

No feature length film has been filmed entirely on IMAX. The most is around 20 minutes IIRC but it still looks great.

Because it's still a nice big screen with comfy seats and a notable lack of idiots talking and playing with their phones during the film?
