Excellent, what with this and Sly writing Rambo5 it is great time for the oldies!

"Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem! Oh, yeah!"

Whats all this prequel shit? Does this mean Ripley won't be in it? :(

About time Ridley went back to his sci-fi roots, although I was hoping it'd be something all new.

Hopefully as Sigourney is partly responsible for what happened to the series.

Of course, she died in the last film.

They'd better not do it as an origin story for the LV426 craft. And they'd better not have a bunch of space beauties effortlessly fighting off the alien either. Part of the original's appeal was the battered craft and ugly crew.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

    Prequel, crispy.
  • Deleted user 31 July 2009 09:22:30
    Truckers in space ftw!!
  • Deleted user 31 July 2009 09:23:09
    Heh.

If you start shitting up this thread, GiarcYekrub, with retarded fanboy anti-nonsense, I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger. I'm a big Alien fan. Seeing Ridley come back to the franchise, spotty recent career or not, is a bigger draw than Sigourney "Ego" Ridley coming back.

    Confusing on so many levels.

Well it's not like they'd be silly enough to resurrect her somehow is it?

They should do it as a musical.

Agreed. No Megax Fox-alikes please. No JJ Abrams Star Trek cast please.

Although it's worth remembering a late-twenties Sigourney in white panties and vest.

Any particular part of prequel you're not getting, Crispy?

(I mean personally I think it's pretty clear that whichever direction in time they go, Ripley is done here, but with a prequel it is at least possible she'd make an appearance. Won't, though)
  • Deleted user 31 July 2009 09:28:35
    I'd rather not know.
  • Deleted user 31 July 2009 09:29:06
Noooooo! I don't want to know where he came from, that's one of the appeals.

HOLY SHIT! Ridley's back at the helm?

Ok, I'm onboard then. This should be a lowish budget and a dirty return. When's it out?

    Beautiful tender beings.

    From the wiki:

director Ridley Scott expresses the opinion that a film exploring the backstory of the Space Jockey would be an interesting direction for the series to take.

I don't care either way. The only Alien film I liked was the Jean-Pierre Jeunet one.

    It looked lovely, but...

    o_0?

Prequel of course comes before. And she didn't die in the last film. And they've already resurrected her - in fact, that's the name of the fourth film. Other than that, spot on.

Hollywood. I'm pretty sure they'd find some shite way of shoehorning her in there somewhere.

I'd like to see a tender and touching romantic comedy about the space jockey and the alien queen.

Either that, or just stick to the production values and simplicity of Alien please
