Registered 9 years agoCheers for the few games i was in yesterday.
The invite from Mr mod came just moments before I intended to go to bed which is why I joined without headset and proper eyesight (almost fell asleep in the last race).
Was still ace though. Great game. -

Yep, got the same rubbish sent to me, it was.... a bit weird! You always have to be a bit careful opening pictures for randomers, but I'm not sure what that was supposed to be - was it that fellow who sent it, and his brother?

edit:
After reading the last page, yes indeed brainbird they were good games - nice to see you on if only for a couple of races. I think I played for another hour after I said I was going to bed. -

Registered 10 years agoYes, nice to have you on board AP. I'll see if I can trawl back and find some of the advice we tried to dole out a while back for surviving blur.
It basically boiled down to familiarity with where the powerups are, saving at least one powerup for defence against shunts or competitors, and that despite the vicious nature of the game, avoiding trouble is often a better way to creep up the leaderboard than getting into violent smash-ups! -

/strokes cat.
I'm sure I'll be on around the usual late time slot though. Hopefully not too late for Red_Bools inconvenient living alarm clocks.
I'm just glad Shambles isn't a mod then after some of the battles I have with him on Blur!
How did the "going to bed early and not playing Blur until after 2AM" plan go, Red Bool?

Welcome to Saturday night Blur! A good call by Sims with the "is that the accidentprone off EG?" question...
I missed out on the picture

I joined around 0:00 to play for an hour or so. Then at 1:00 I thought "well, 1:30 is also still fine"...when that happens you know you're done for .gif)
still...2:15 wasn't as bad as last time (2:30)

Haha, there are very strict rules on when yo can leave Blur. For example, if Russian Hill is on, you're absolutely forbidden to leave, because it's an amazing track! Same goes with Sausages. Also, if you're close to unlocking a brilliant car/ mod.andytheadequate wrote:

@Shambles- that was a brutal collision! I went from first to 10th because of that! Can't believe you came out of it well though, although me spinning you probably cost you first place...
At least I didn't get barged off a cliff whilst nitroing though

Registered 2 years agoThat's what reminded me of Blur was all the talk of Skydrifter. Not sure that's what the developer had in mind though.
"Wow, this game is quite good. I think I will go find my Blur disc..." -
Man I loved Blur during the beta (as did loads of my mates) but we were all hoping for a proper team mode (not the 10v10 rubbish) but something like the team championship mode on PGR4.
4 teams of 5 would'a been epic, allowing small groups of friends to take on others. Even 10 man races with 2 teams would'a been better.
Nice to see more driving games with team modes this year. I hope the trend continues. -

Registered 4 years agoI'm sure we managed to get some team racing done with EG on either side and it was brutal fun. GO TEAM YELLOW!Playing all the right notes— but not necessarily in the right order.

I found it all a little easy on my own. I just prefer having a laugh with my mates. PGR4 team championship mode is still the highlight of this gen for me. Epic times.
Pretty sure that on Blur I finished in the top 3 about 75% of the time. Won about 1 in 3. Really fun game, just didn't get my mates interested due to the lack of proper teams. Blur had some seriously skilled players on it though and because of the low number playing you got to race against them often, which is always fun.

@Brett/ Stevil- sorry I wasn't chatty, I was in private chat.
Some brilliant games though. In one race I drowned the same guy twice and he sent me a message and it wasn't even abusing me! -

The missus already gave me a disapproving look when I went to bed at 0:30 (and accidentally waking here whilst trying to sneak into bed unnoticed

By all means, please do! It's been too long since last time. The problem with this is the same as Trials: you just can't stop once you've started
