EG Dads, I thought you guys would be the most likely venue for finding an answer to this :)

I've heard of this phenomenon in babies, where apparently when they are a few months old, their heads start pulsing in a manner not dissimilar to John Hurt in Alien. Although without any aliens bursting out, obviously. Does anything like that actually happen?

Dunno about monstrous bulging, but you can definitely see my baby's pulse through the soft spot on his noggin (4 months). It's kind of freaky and gross (but normal).

He mostly cries at night, mostly.

I've seen it too. I'd have thought it normal TBH...

Yes. Unless your kids are born with a full head of hair, it should be fairly easy to see. Watch out for them being sunken though as it could be a sign of dehydration.

Yup. Was just going to say what Murbs just posted too!

I think we phoned NHS 24 with our first one, it was fairly Alienesque one night. Perfectly normal!

If anything bursts out, I would probably give the health visitor a ring though.

Yeah, it's quite freaky the first time you notice it. That and the putrefying stump of umbilical cord that they leave attached were the two things that I really wasn't expecting.
You're kinda prepared for the poo and sick and sleeplessness, but weird Geiger shit? No one tends to mention so much...
