I'm assuming the 'Nazi plan' re: the Euro is either the common misunderstanding of the 'Reich' concept, or the Nazis did plan a common currency across Europe etc. I'd be interested to find out, but not enough to search for 'Alex Jones'...

They wanted marks to be the euro currency. I don't think they would have really liked that dull sterile crap with pictures of bridges and windows.

George Zimmerman is not guilty of the murder of Trayvon Martin, a Florida jury decided late Saturday.

Fucking hell!!! What a joke next up Oscar pistorios will get acquitted (I know South African but both should be clear cut cases) at what point does a 17 yr old boy of any race walking down the road with a drink and sweets turn into someone being killed??

All female jury and only six of them.
Why only six people in the jury?

The way I understand it, George Zimmerman was charged with 2nd degree murder, which was never going to stand, considering the circumstances. A negligent homicide charge would have been more sensible. But still. Not guilty is still outrageous.

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, to explore the issue.

What if Martin had actually approached the guy in a violent manner and started a fight with him? If you're Zimmerman and you're getting the shit beaten out of you and you're worried you'll get beaten to death or worse, is it the craziest thing to shoot to try and save your life?

We know he didn't. He phoned it in, was warned not to approach Martin, but did it anyway.

    !!

So 'stand your ground' allows you to chase down an unarmed teen and shoot him dead, but for a woman to fire warning shots against an alledged abusive partner (who was unharmed) it gets you 20 years in jail?

    Bizarre.

Sounds like the verdict was correct. Prosecution fucked up and even a manslaughter charge would have been hard to prove.

Reading the Wiki article I got the idea that Martin had started to approach the car, but in any case, wasn't Zimmerman still receiving a beating at Martin's hands before the shot was fired?

The article says that witnesses did support Zimmerman's statement, and he was largely consistent. The prosecutor's witnesses, however, lied and kept changing their story.

But as it also says, the public will make of this trial what they want. Legally it was the correct result.

The warning shots case and Martin case happened in the same state, with the same 'stand your ground' law.

Zimmerman's statement(s) were initially inconsistent, and thrown into doubt by CCTV. The defence seems to have been polished-up nicely since. Unlike the prosecution, as you say. What a fuck up.

Gay marriage certainly is different across states. Painting the whole of the country with the same brush is poor. Very poor.

Surely the juries in these cases were in a far better position to ascertain guilt than people on the internet?
