He did well to even get noticed, considering he was such a lightweight. Although arguably it wasn't because of any strength on his part; he was just the last in a long line of Not-Romneys who had flamed out before him.

I will miss his crazy foreign policy pronouncements. My personal favorite was his conviction that the Arab Spring really should have started in Iran. Or that there is no such thing as a 'Palestinian' on the West Bank; they're all Israeli.

The primary is going to be even more tedious now. Maybe Romney could nominate Palin as his VP again.

I wonder if this story will gain any traction. As is always the case when it comes to deaths during police operations involving ethnic minorities, there is always a huge suspicion that it was racially motivated, but whether or not this is the case here, one thing that will always strike me, is how the police will always look after their own, even when the copper in charge looks like a complete prick.

Even when police shoot one of their own they always side with the white guys.

Ohh don't get my hopes up. It would be awful if she became conservative background noise.

Think Ron Paul was the only one that made any sense. So of course he doesn't stand a chance

Did he fuck. He's a mentalist who just happens to be right on a few select issues. Still, it would be amusing for him to finally get a nomination.

I find the whole Romney thing amusing. Is he not doomed before it starts due to being a Mormon? Can a non-Christian really become a president in the US? I don't personally think itís possible which makes this whole thing ultimately a non-event.

Just the same in this country mind. The tapes showing the shooting of the Brazilion on that train mysteriously "disappered"

Just for a change, here's a 'What's great about America?' link.

Hilary Clinton. Just saw her comments on Russia and China (in relation to Syria) on the news. Tough old cookie.

I'd think the vast majority of people won't care. And the people who would care (say, evangelical Christians) would probably still hold their noses and vote for him, as anything for them is preferable to Obama.

Or they might just not vote at all. But there's a bit of a lessened enthusiasm for Obamma too, so it'll probably balance out or something.

Long story short: Romney is probably going to lose, but his Mormonism will be a pretty minor factor, imo.

[link url=http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/news/a393833/dark-knight-rises-accused-of-thinly-veiled-attack-on-mitt-romney.html]Controversial US media personality Rush Limbaugh has accused The Dark Knight Rises of being a thinly-veiled left-wing conspiracy against Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Talking on his syndicated radio show on Tuesday, Limbaugh took issue with the role of the film's main antagonist Bane. Mitt Romney has come under fire from Democrats and the Obama administration for his record as CEO of investment firm Bain Capital, and the right-wing radio host saw no coincidence in the similarity between the name of the company and the character played by Tom Hardy.

"Do you think it is accidental that the name of the really vicious fire-breathing, four-eyed whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?" he told listeners, according to The Hollywood Reporter.[/link]

Mitt Romney's trip to London sounding like a gaffe-fest. :D

So far he's insulted our handling of the Olympics (actually fair enough to be honest, but not very diplomatic or Presidential), blatantly forgotten Ed Miliband's name (Mr. Leader!) and said he's enjoyed looking out "the back side of Downing Street". \o/

    And it's only day one!

I cannot wait for Romney to get to Israel.

He is going to country where hundreds of thousands of people have died in the name of god, to discuss the future for the most contested territory on the planet, and Romney as a mormon belives that Jesus is a white guy from Utah.

Hopefully nobody will take offense or something "bad" might happen to our dear friend Mr.Romney.

Sounds about as likely as him being the son of god.

Whilst in general I think the PR side of politics is massively over-hyped and the policies side ignored, he's doesn't half come across as a dick.

Romney will be fine in Israel. Over there the consensus seems to be more of an "anyone but Obama" thing. I doubt Mormonism will even come up.

Not Israel as such, but the Israeli leadership. And yes, they're not as cosy as they'd like to be. Obama and Bibi aren't exactly chums either.
